Toys and Games Reviews of Little Tikes Shopping Cart - Yellow/RedCustomer Review: A winner! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my 2 year old for Christmas. It's now April and she's still roars through the house with it...everyday! It's one of the few toys that she still enjoys months after Christmas. It's quite sturdy and I had no problems putting it together. To further endorse this toy, as I type (literally) my daughter is ripping through the house with her SHOPPING CART loaded with various plastic food products! Please be aware that you need to purchase the grocery items seperately. Overall, this is a good toy for little ones beginning to pretend play. P.S. I gave this toy a 1 for educational value, not as a negative mark, but because it isn't an educational toy
Customer Review: Sturdy, fun, and durable! Summary: 5 Stars
When my 7 year old was 2 his AUnt bought him this shopping cart. It is like new five years later. So when my nephew just turned one I figured my son had so much fun playing with it, I would get one fo rher son. He walks around with his stuffed animals in there like babies. It helps him with balance. It gives him a way to pick up toys and take them to his bedroom. I would say the only downfall to it is he flips it on its side and he climbs, but he is a toddler and that's what they do best! Sturdy, durable and fun! When he finishes with it, it can either be passed on to the next sibling, donated or sold, becasue it will still look as good as new! Enjoy!
Customer Review: With sand in the base... Summary: 5 Stars
Although we didn't purchase this cart from amazon (not worth the extra money with shipping and handling expenses), I would like to say that it's an excellent walking toy for our almost 15 month old. We followed a previous reviewer's advice and took out the plug to fill the base with sand. It's perfect for our tall son to push around with enough resistance that it doesn't get away from him the way so many walkers do. He is not yet walking on his own, but he has walked more with this toy than any other walking toy we have introduced to him. This toy gets 5 stars from me, but I definitely recommend putting sand in the base. It adds a lot of stability.
Customer Review: A tall shopping cart Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter had a shorter "learn to walk" type of shopping cart when she was a baby. We recieved this one last Xmas. She is now 4, and this is the perfect size for her. The baby has her old smaller cart, which he loves. And she has hers. She is tall for her age, and it is just right, so a toddler wouldn't be able to push very effectively. However, my infant pulls himself up on it all the time and pushes it around and I don't remember him ever knocking it over. So I feel it's pretty sturdy despite it's high center of gravity. My kids really enjoy this toy, it's a classic favorite, but I don't think I would have been willing to pay this price.
Customer Review: Great toy with a Hazard Summary: 3 Stars
My daughter received this toy for her 2nd birthday and she and her 5 year old sister loved playing with it, going on elaborate shopping trips. One day, at 2 1/2, she climbed into the seat portion of the cart - makes sense, since she sits there at the grocery store. The leg openings were large enought o allow her to slip in, but then she was stuck. The seat was not strong enough to hold her weight (20 lbs), putting pressure on her legs. The plastic is so strong, nothing I had would cut through it. I had to call the fire department & they had shears strong enough to clip the seat apart. She cried because they broke her toy, but she was okay.
