Customer Review: Front wheels pop off

I love this toy but it just has one minor but very annoying problem - the front wheels pop off frequently. Granted I have 4 boys that have played with this great toy in all sorts of ways that it was not intended to be played with but I don't think they have done anything in particular to make this happen. I think it's just a design issue. Whereas the rod for the back wheels are enclosed in a hole, the front wheels merely snap into a groove. From one who has had to snap in these front wheels a hundred times I ask WHY....WHY OH WHY coulded Little Tykes have made the front wheel rod enclosed too??!!?? I didn't look at all the reviews but I can't believe I didn't see anyone else write about this issue. Still it is a great toy so this mom continues to- at least once every day - snap those wheels back in.Customer Review: Putting It Together

It was a bit daunting trying to understand step 1 in the instructions but you have to screw the screw into the small slit. It does work. Once we got past that it was great. It is quite sturdy and rolls very well. The shopping basket's well is quite deep and he can load a lot of stuff to take from place to place in our apartment.
It's small but not too small. Great for apartment dwellers in New York City. He loved it. He has a large food set item toy that goes great in this and if your child has a doll or teddy, it can fit in the make-believe child seat. As with real shopping carts you can fold that part in if you have to doll or stuffed animal.
My son is usually rough but he's been good to this toy but I know it's sturdy. I ran with it down the hall and it kept up.

..., I was hesitant to purchase this shopping cart. But, I knew my 20-month-old boy loves pushing carts and strollers (anything with wheels!) and I knew Little Tikes' reputation...and think the really bad review was a bum rap. Like other Little Tikes toys, the shopping cart is very sturdy and as stable as I can imagine it being. It was time-consuming to assemble -- although my son worked alongside me with a screwdriver and his drill, so we turned that into a positive. This shopping cart is NOT a walker -- its recommended for 18 months and above -- but its terrific for more experienced toddlers who are dying to push something. And, I'd imagine it'll be equally fun for Sean as he ages and becomes enmeshed with the world of make-believe.Customer Review: Heavy Duty & Built to Last

If you are looking for a toy that will get alot of use and will be able to withstand the test of time - and the abuse of a 3 year old who drags it up and down stairs, knocks it over and fills it full with heavy items of all kinds - this is the right choice for you. I think it's even more stable than those toys that babies are supposed to push and learn to walk behind. Those always seemed dangerous to me because the second my daughter leaned forward, the wheeled cart or ride on toy took off and my kid did a face plant into the carpet. With this shopping cart, you could put stuff in it to weigh it down a little more so it doesn't get away from them. 2 years later, she still plays with it every day. My son has enjoyed this toy since he started walking. He is now two.
As a little guy, he used it as a walking aid and enjoyed putting things inside it or in the little seat part and pushing them around.
Now it lives outside, where he loves to push or pull it around the driveway and patio. I think he might think of it as more of a vehicle, like a car, as he makes driving sounds as he goes. It's waterproof, so it makes a great outdoor toy.
As he gets older he might use it for pretend play with his grocery food. I imagine this toy still has a lot of life, especially since we are expecting another baby.
Overall, definitely worth the money and surprisingly fun and versatile!
