Customer Review: Very sturdy toy, worth the money.

We bought this shopping cart for my daughter's birthday to replace the cheapie one she'd had before. Her previous one had cost under $10 (a gift) and there is no comparison between that one and the Little Tikes one. The old one was flimsy from the get go, faded quickly, and when it broke, left sharp edges in the plastic. The Little Tikes cart is much, much sturdier and safer.
I put it together in less than 30 minutes, even with my daughter's 'help'. There's a nice deep basket that holds a good amount of pretend play food or whatever else your child wants to push around. The seat for a doll folds against the cart just like a real shopping cart, and easily holds a good variety of different style dolls. The empty shelf under the basket is a nice touch, perfect for stashing more groceries.
This cart is definitely worth the extra money, and I'd gladly buy it again.
Edit: It's been 3 years since I wrote this review and we still have this cart. The colors are bright and it works great, even after tons of outdoor play. This toy is definitely worth the purchase price!

I purchased this shopping cart for my 17 month old twin daughters. They were all over it even when we were trying to put it together. It's not THAT difficult to assemble, although it did take a few minutes. We did have a hard time with the wheel covers popping off, but that was easily fixed with some silicone glue. We have one girl who's needing a little extra time to learn to walk, and we bought this for her to push around the house.
It was a little tippy at first, but the people at Little Tikes told me to remove the plug at the bottom of the cart and fill with a little sand for stability.
I did call Little Tikes to complain about the wheels falling off and they happily sent me another set, no questions asked. The covers are suppose to snap on but for whatever reason they tend come apart easily. As I said before.. we ended up using silicone glue on the inside of the cap and we've had no problems.
I'm giving this 5 stars even though we had the problem with the wheels. The awesome customer service and advice more than made up for it.

I really did my homework when choosing a first shopping cart for my 2-year-old for Christmas this year. I was initially turned-off by this one because it seemed so big and bulky when compared to others out there, but ultimately chose it for two reasons - 1) Little Tykes makes great, sturdy and virtually indestructable products, a major plus and 2) this cart has a place in the front for a baby doll to sit, just like my daughter gets to sit in the cart when she goes to the store with Mommy! A very big deal indeed.
It wasn't too bad to put together - "Santa" constructed it with not a single swear word! It is very sturdy, and serves as a great storage bin for when my daughter is not using it. Plus, it doesn't have any characters on it, which we find kind of a turn off. Dora and Elmo are cute and certainly have their place, but we want something we can eventally pass on to a future child, girl or boy, should we ever have another.
It's a great cart and all the time I spent reading user reviews turned out to be worth it.

We've had this shopping cart for awhile now and my children love it! My Daughter loves to "shop" with her baby doll in the seat of the cart and fills her shopping basket up. It's very sturdy and well made. It does take a little bit getting it assembled but I defiantely know it's not coming apart!!! Some other review had stated that you need to be careful for tipping over - I found this to be a minor problem but it does happen...especially going between tile and carpet. I make sure my daughter is playing with it in one room and it gets put away when it's not being played with.
This is an excellent toy to help stimulate growth. We've tried some cheaper models of shopping carts which my children have all loved but they just don't hold up! The wheels break and the cart breaks and they crack - you don't have to be concerned about that with this one. It takes all the abuse a child can give. And there is a place for toddlers to store things under the basket just like a real shopping cart.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND IT'S AT A GREAT PRICE

I searched high and low for a cart that would hold up to my two kids abuse but the wheels fell off Christmas Day. The rest of the cart seems to be very durable. It came with extra "fasteners" for the wheels (which should have been my first clue) but they broke also. So I called Little Tykes and the lady gave me a hard time because I didn't have a reciept to send her eventhough I told her that I bought it here online. So she said thatshe would let it slide this time. I also asked her about the sand and water sandbox that I have because it leaks when it rains and fulls the inside of the sanbox and the inside of the top with water. I knew it was over a year old but for some reason I thought that their products had a lifetime warranty. She told me to drill holes in the top to let the water out. On the second item I wasn't expecting much but I definitely will think twice before I buy Little Tykes again. I thought I was paying more for a better quality product. I guess that isn't the case anymore.
