We recently put this together for our 9 month old son since he's now walking around a bit holding the furniture. Putting it together wasn't complicated but the wheels did require a little patience.
He's not able to sit in it comfortably yet. We've also tried to use it as a walker and that hasn't worked too well so far either. The toy is too light-when my son leans on it for support, it pushes forward faster than is stable for him.
It's also a very simple toy compared to the other ride ons you can get at Toys-R-Us for a similar price.
He likes it when we push him around on it, but he's not totally comfortable on it and pushing him around can be tiring. It would be great if this came with a push handle for the parents though, but I guess that would raise the price.
I am hoping he'll grow into it soon. If he starts liking it more, I'll change my rating
update: as he became comfortable with this toy, my son grew to love it. he loved riding around on the deck with it.

My daughter has definetely enjoyed pushing this car around and piling things on the seat and in the "doll" seat. I think it helped her learn to walk on her own, which is what prompted our purchase. She also likes climbing on, off, and over it. She is just starting to figure how to "ride" it herself (she knows how to and enjoys having me push her around on it.) The only thing this is missing is an inseat storage compartment. Kids love collecting and hiding things, and it seems there is plenty of space for a compartment--it doesn't need to be big. Although then the seat might not be as "ergonomic," that is if you could say it currently is. I think it would be a good idea anyway.
Assembly was easy enough for my husband, although it did take about 30 min--there are quite a few pieces that go into putting on each wheel. It'd be nice if the wheels were preinstalled but then the box would have to be a bit bigger, which isn't as economical, so consider your time spent an environmental service :)

I bought this toy from a consignment shop thinking my daughter might play with it for just a little bit and loose interest. Boy was I wrong. She's had it now for 5 months and she pushes it every day! She's just now learning how to push herself on it so now it's going to get it's second stretch of use. At first I was concerned that it wouldn't be as great as the rides that have a steering wheel, but it turns out that it's better. My friend bought a ride on with the steering wheel and during the pushing phase it's quite frustrating to push because it doesn't always go straight if they leave the steering wheel turned. With this racer if my daughter wants to turn it as she's pushing she simple turns the car instead of fighting with a steering wheel. So my first thoughts were wrong and this turned out to be a great toy! I'm ready to buy one for my friend's baby. Super durablity and withstands all the crashes into our walls. Also easy and lightweight to turn over if my daughter decides to see what's underneath.Customer Review: Great Ride On Toy!

We had one of these cars for our son when he was little (now 11) and he loved it, so when it came time to get a ride on toy for our daughter, we went looking for a similar one. All of the ride ons in the store had so many bells and whistles on them, and seemed to be made very cheaply. We couldn't find this in stores so I finally went online and ordered it. We gave it to our daughter for her 1st birthday and she just LOVES it! She isn't walking yet but she loves to push it around the house. At first she would just stand up in the seat and hang on to the back handle, but now she's figured out how to sit on it and get on and off on her own so that's a whole new world of fun! Her feet are just beginning to touch the ground so she looks to us to push her around, but she also has a blast pushing it all over the the house! Definitely a great purchase if you are looking for a simple and solid toy that will last! Works great indoors and outside!Customer Review: Not the toy pictured, and a nightmare to put together.

I bought this toy for my youngest grandchild for Christmas (I'm guessing at the ratings, since she hasn't received it yet). I started to put it together, but I didn't get very far: the parts were so ill-fitting that I didn't have the physical strength to do it. I got my son to help me, and it was a real struggle for him to get it together, even though he is strong and very handy. At one point we thought we'd have to send it back because we couldn't get a rod fastened from one end to the other. Now it's together (although I'm concerned that it won't be sturdy, given the barely connecting parts), and it's nothing like the racer pictured. It's blue with yellow and red, instead of all red, it doesn't have decals, and the shape is different. The box says "Push & Ride Racer," but in fact the toy looks just like the Little Tikes Push & Ride Doll Walker also sold on Amazon. That's not what I wanted: I wanted the toy in the picture.
