I read these reviews online before I purchased this. I selected this bin toy organizer because the other ones I looked at had issues with safety and it was very important for me to know that this type of organizer was going to be safe. I really like the Mission Oak style of this organizer ... we put it in our living room and it looks nice (for having toys all in it). Better then the big plastic toy chest we used to have!
The shelves and the bins are all easily accessible and my 19 month old DD loves to take things down from the shelf or carry the bin to her play area and dump it all out. At first I thought the bins were a bit too small to be practical, but now that she carries them around I actually appreciate the fact that they are smaller. They are easier for her to handle and it means that there is less she will be dumping out!
After reading the reviews for this organizer, we made sure we read the directions carefully and it is important to get it right. Otherwise, my husband thought it was very easy to put together and he said it had a really nice design....much easier then most of her toys! Additionally, knowing that the hardware is hidden in the buckets was also helpful. I would definitely recommend this piece of furniture ... it will last a long time and get a lot of use!

We needed a storage system for our 2 year old. This is perfect as it's just his height, and it has great storage for both toys and books.
I'm glad I read the reviews first thought. I knew right away to look for the hardware in one of the bins (although I can't imagine why customer service doesn't know to tell you to look there and instead sends more)
Also, the first time we tried putting it together, I couldn't get the sides to fit. We would get one screwed in, but the other side would then the other side would be off. We were really trying to force it, and finally gave up after 30 min. I then read a review about one of the sides (C) always faces you and since other people put it together so easily, I thought I did something wrong. We took then whole thing apart and CAREFULLY followed the directions, making sure we matched the peices according to the picture given. This time everything came together nicely and we were done in 15 min.
So other than installation (which is easy if you REALLY FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY) this is a great product.

I bought this for my then 9 month old son. We have four children, the last which came 8 years after we thought we were "finished". With that in mind, we didn't want to invest a lot of money in "kid" furniture because it wasn't going to get handed down to anyone, but we did want some thing that was going to be sturdy and safe for a little one. This storage center is perfect. It has the durability of Little Tikes that we have trusted for 14 years now and it has a nice furniture look to it so that our sons room isn't made entirely of plastic. He can pull himself up on it safely and easily access the drawers where his books and toys are kept. Keep in mind he is still only a week shy of 11 months. I think it is a great product. I think the prior negative review must have been a fluke. It obviously is suppose to come with the assembly hardware and hopefully their problem got resolved. Little Tikes has always been a great company for our family and my only complaint is the discontinuation of items that we thought were fantastic!!!Customer Review: M & B Mom

I have been looking for a bookshelf for my 11-month-old son that was sturday and somewhat low to the ground to reduce the "tipover" risk. I had a difficult time finding something until I saw this from Little Tikes. I liked the fact that it was solid wood and had the storage bins (great for all of those blocks that I seem to keep stepping on all over the house!!)Assembly was very simple, only a screwdriver and hammer were used. It took me about an hour to put it together, but that was only because I was trying to keep my "helpful" 3-year-old and 11-month-old occupied at the same time. All of the pieces were well labeled, and the labels peeled off nicely. Instructions were very easy to follow, and there wasn't any messy glue to deal with like some other "put it together" furniture.
It is in his room now and looks GREAT - he loves to pull the bins out and play with the toys by himself. I would definitely recommend this - now I'm looking at some of the other pieces in the collection!
Customer Review: no screws and piece of wood was broke! stick to plastic!

My hallway has wood pieces everywhere and no screws or dowels were included. I emailed tikes customer service when they get back to me and ship it than I'll give it more stars. The wood is nice oak in color. It's smaller than I had hoped but should serve my childs room well. the piece of wood that was broken was actually a slate that holds the draws in place. So that needs replacement as well. It was packaged in styrofoam well so I wonder if they shipped it broke from there warehouse. I can't imagine it broke during shipping because it was packaged so well. So for now I have wood balance beams in my house. Tikes needs to inspect there wood furniture better before they ship it. And I'm not about to spend another 35 dollars to ship it back to them- oh and the box is heavy. Otherwise they should stick to there plastic furniture. ps after reading reviews I see two other people got no screws either! Thanks for making my night a nightmare what a mess!
