I would not buy this product or recommend it to other parents.
Firstly, the construction is weak; a rivet fell off the chalkboard side not a week after we got it.
But my main complaint is about the chalkboard itself. It is not a working chalkboard at all. It's essentially a piece of textured plastic that is very difficult to draw on with chalk, and is absolutely impossible to erase, even with a damp cloth.
We bought this as an educational tool to help teach our children letters and numbers. Without a usable chalkboard we're basically going to have to buy another one, so this product was a complete waste of money.
I would suggest asking around to parents to find out if they have one they like before buying one, but regardless of anything, don't bother with this one.

My 19-month old grandson loves the easel and used it immediately. He knew how to use the eraser with no prompts from any of us.
Personally, I found this product difficult to put together. Also, one piece was missing, Item "F". It was to have 4 of the "F" pieces, but contained only 3. There were several other extra pieces, more than specified in the instructions, but of course, not "F",the part we needed. It takes 2 Part "F"s to hold up each of the 2 trays. I must call the Little Tikes toll-free number to request a replacement part. My daughter-in-law and my husband were able to put the easel together with minimal help from me.
I'm sure my grandson will continue to use and enjoy this easel for a long while.

I believe this easel or a make of this easel has been around for a very long time. I have three easels like this, gifts, yardsales, ect. On any given day there can be 10 kids under 7 running around here between my kids, my son's children, and my daycare kids. My youngest is 18 and my youngest is 2-months so it's always busy here. On hot days like this one, I wait until it gets cooler in the evening, then I stip the kids down to their diapers (or put smocks on the older kids) and let them paint. They get FILTHY but they have fun. Later we have watermelon. These easels are great, six kids are entertained by only 3 of these. They can be used inside, outside, anywhere. This is one of the best purchases I have made in a while. The product is absolutely magnificent. From the outside packaging to the double easel inside your will find that this was money well spent. I have recently openend a home day-care and the children in my care love to use this. The best part is that it comes with most things you would need in order to make the easel fun. Such as chalk, brush and paper. Little Tikes has taken every step to child-proof their product. Most importantly it is very durable so you will have years of fun, excitement, and learning fun with your children. Little Tikes has done a wonderful job. This is just a great toy. Ours has gone through 4 children, 3 of them boys, and it's still like new. Little Tikes makes things that last forever and this is no exception. The trays snap off for easy cleanup, but stay on when needed by children. It's just so much fun for them to be able to draw on one side and paint on the other at the same time. We buy the finger paint sets and use the paper that is included in them and also, they make extra paper sets sold separately that provides the slippery side needed for finger painting. I love how easily this easel cleans up and requires very little maintenance. A great buy for a lot of fun!
