Toys and Games Reviews of Little Tikes Climb & Slide CastleCustomer Review: Great Little Slide for 12 months - 36 months! Summary: 4 Stars
We have had this Climb and Slide Castle for almost 3 1/2years now.
It is still in GREAT shape! It has lasted through my near 2yr old and near 4 yr old as well as a few older nieces and nephews that surely exceeded the wieght limit.
My son got this toy when he was about 8-1/2months old and never had troubles climbing and sliding as long as he was in bare feet. It can be quite slippery to climb if your child is wearing socks.
My son is 4yrs old in 2 weeks and he's quite too big to really have any fun on it and has been too big for a while.
Maybe the age recommendations should be from 12 months - 36 months?
Customer Review: Fun, but with a few problems Summary: 3 Stars
We ordered this for our 18 month old for Christmas. He has be climbing since he was 10 months old. The slide works great, and he enjoys standing in the tower and turning the wheel. The difficulties come in on the climbing part. This toy would have been better if it had steps instead of the silly "climbing wall". It is impossible for my son to climb up unless he has someone help because his feet slip off the grips. It is also difficult for him to crawl through the tunnel because of the high thresholds. I would not spend the money to buy this toy again. I would buy the playhouse climber instead, it has stairs, no thresholds, and it is cheaper!
Customer Review: Poor design Summary: 2 Stars
I wanted a small slide/climber for indoors to encourage my daughter who has become as active as a little monkey. Unfortunately, this item is too small and poorly designed and I put it in the backyard for now.
The ledge is too small for her to climb up to and on to without sliding head first down the slide. The final straw though was when she stood on it, grabbed the wheel and started pushing... she was able to make the whole things wobble -- at 12 months.
For a small, older child this may be ok. For a large, young child that is just learning how to walk, climb and slide... this is not recommended.
Customer Review: Wonderful Slide! Summary: 5 Stars
I went out and bought this and... brought it home and then read the reviews. I thought that I had made a mistake buying this but I decided to put it together anyway and see if my 17 month old enjoyed it. She has no problem climbing the "rock wall" and absolutely loves it. I personaly wish the slide was a bit longer but she doesn't seem to mind. It was amazingly simple and fast to put together (took me 7 minutes) and I like the fact that it will be easy to break down if necissary. This was a great investment. It is cold here and my daughter has been locked indoors for weeks. I wish I had bought this 2 months ago!
Customer Review: Daughter has fun Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this product when my daughter was about 1. She had a hard time keeping her little feet on the rock wall to begin with, but now she's 1 1/2 and has absolutly no problem. She loves to slide. At first I thought it was a little steep when she was 1, now that she's a little older, it's perfect. The sides are a little wobbly, seems like it could be tipped over, but my 25lb daughter hasn't done it yet. Under the slide is a perfect place for her favorite toy or for her to hide. We mainly use it in our house, the size is nice for this purpose. I would definately recommend this to others.
