Toys and Games Reviews of Little Tikes Climb & Slide Castle

Customer Review: Durable and fun small slide/climber
Summary: 4 Stars

We purchased this climb and slide castle for our rambunctious younger child when she was around 18 months olds. She now uses it more now that she is closer to 2 years old. It is small enough for us to let her play with it indoors in our gameroom but yet it is big enough that even her tall 6 year old twin brother and sister play on it with her. She loves climbing up the castle and the fast short slide. The little crawl tunnel is nice but she doesn't really use it that much. The steering wheel is also a cute feature; her and her big sister pretend they are pirates on a ship. I can say that this is a durable product since not only my toddler plays on it, but her 6 year old twin brother and sister also climb and jump on it. Overall I can see this holding up for awhile and being in good condition for when our expectant fourth child begins to use it. I have never been disappointed by any little tykes product as we also have other outdoor toys made by them (large slide, sand table, picnic table, basketball hoop).

Customer Review: Save your money!
Summary: 2 Stars

My 24 month old son just got this as a birthday gift. It's not something I would have bought myself for him, however, it's kind of hard to take back gifts from his grandparents. So I set it up, which is fast and easy, but this is a very lightweight plastic and my son of course had to stand on top of it and grab onto the sides and rock back and forth on it. Not safe at all. If you do get one of these, you must be standing, holding onto the side in the event your child decides to do the same thing! The slide is very steep and it looks very uncomfortable to slide down. My son didn't have any problems climbing up the "rocks" or the slide for that matter, but he is quite the monkey, as you can imagine. He doesn't appear to enjoy playing on it as much as other playsets we have been on. So anyway, my point being, save your money for a decent, durable playset and don't spend money on lightweight plastic playsets like this.

Customer Review: Great indoor climber
Summary: 5 Stars

After doing some research on a small climber, I decided on the Little Tikes Climb and Slide Castle and it's been a BIG hit in our house. I have a very petite 13 month old who has just begun to climb on things and she loves this toy. She mastered the rock wall immediately which was my main concern. My daughter is on the climber all day long. My son also loves the climber and he is almost 4 years old. Although he is a little big for the slide, he still enjoys it and is getting just as much activity and exercise as his sister. Assembly was super easy, I did it myself in less than 10 minutes with children clamoring for me to hurry! The size of the climber is perfect if you do not have a lot of room indoors. We live in a small condo and we have it in our great room. At night we push it off to the side and you hardly notice it's there. All in all a great investment and a very fun toy for your little ones.

Customer Review: Very cool indoor toy for 12-24 month olds
Summary: 4 Stars

My twin boys started climbing all over this thing when we got it for them for their 1st birthday. They quickly leanred to scale the climbing wall and go down the slide. I did wish the slide had more supportive sides and more of a curve, however, but it's still satisfactory. They loved standing on the platform and turning the wheel. They would even stand on the platform and watch their movies. Make sure you tighten the joints as much as possible becuase one of my sons would hold on to the wheel and get the castle rockin', somtimes to the point of almost making it fall over. It was a great way for them to get exercise indoors and it's quite small so it fit inside without taking up too much space. They just turned two and they have out grown it. We have bigge slides and outdoor play equipment and they don't have any interest in this one anymore. But it was worth the money for the time they used it.

Customer Review: Great Toy For The Little Climber !
Summary: 4 Stars

This castle was bought for my son xmas 2003, when he was just 15 months. Since he was already doomed to be a climber this was in instant hit.

I disagree strongly with a lot of remarks re the toy not having steps but the juts as we found all the children who we have to visit, until they can master this stage then they are not steady enough to be climbing this toy without help from an adult - and no way should they be left alone until they can climb this themselves should they not have adult supervision.

Overal its a great toy inside .. but I found once we have placed this outside in the summer its suddenly not being used.

I have to point out the reason we did move this outside was my little monkey of a son found this was moveable and he was dragging it to shelves etc which normally would have being totally unreachable to him without the help from his caste !!!!!
