Customer Review: Small and shaky, but fun!

We purchased this for our 1 year old and 4 year old sons. We thought it would be wonderful to have a small climbing and sliding contraption for them to play on in and out of the house.
The boys love to climb on the unit and act as if they are kings of the world. As for sliding, it's a pretty short ride. So they don't get much out of the sliding. Even the 1yo reaches the end of the slide in a millisecond. And it's a rather sudden stop at the end.
Our real worry stems from our 1yo climbing up on the unit and grabbing one of the sides. He will then start shaking it back and forth like he is King Kong or some terror. The manufacturer could have added more braces to the unit to make it more sturdy. Instead, it is held together by a few large plastic screws. And the slide just snaps into place. So, unlike the advertising picture with the kids playing on and under the unit, we ensure our children do not climb under when another is on top or sliding.
While it stirs up a bit of concern, and we ensure a keen eye on them while playing, it has stood up to their vigorous activity on it. And they do love it being in the house. So we can't complain!

We purchased this product yesterday from [...] for $70.00 for our one year old, and she really likes it. She needs help to climb to the top, which is great because she can crawl under it on her own, and then play on top with mom and dad alongside. We purchased this toy to give her something to climb and crawl under and expend some energy on for the next few years, and I think it will work nicely for that. She also likes the sound it makes when she bangs stuff on it.
It was pretty easy to assemble, and all the connecting parts are large and stay in place. The box didn't have any staples or small pieces attached - so she could even play in it right away, too! I wish the castle was a little heavier because it's light enough our daughter can move the structure when she pushes on it - but it probably would be sturdier outside on a mulch or sand surface.
I think the optimal fun age for this product is probably a little closer to 2 and up, but I think our daughter is having a little fun with it now - and it was intended as a lasting toy. Overall, I'm really happy that we purchased this product, and am happy with the Little Tykes brand.

I wanted to get a climber for in the house during the cold months, this one seemed to be the most compact and would easily fit into my smaller living room without taking up a huge amount of space. This really did fit the bill, as climbers go, my 20 month old son and my 3 1/2 year old daughter love to play on it. It is the first thing they run to when they come down the stairs in the morning, and we have had it for about 5 months now.
I love the Little Tikes brand, usually they are very sturdy and long lasting, but I do have to say that as sturdy as thier climbers are, this particular model is the worst. I mean it isn't going to fall apart on you or anything, but it doesn't snap/fit together like the other climers do. It has plastic screws that need to be tightened all of the time. (Little Tikes included a tool for this with my climber) It will not fall apart, and isn't dangerous, it is just kind of annoying when it gets loose and wobbly. If you have the room and can find the climber with the house on it instead (I have this one too) it is a lot more sturdy, has a really cool mail slot etc., but it does take up a bunch more room.

I found it hard to settle on a present for my one year old that he could play with. I knew I wanted a slide, but was disapointed to find there are not a lot of options for such a young toddler. My husband and I after some research settled on this one. We liked that it was a slide and a tunnel and had a steering wheel, so that he had a lot to occupy himself on. It also had a 1-4 age range which made me hopefully that maybe he'd enjoy it for more than a season, and if we were really lucky, his four year old sister would play on it some too.
Husband did the assembly, and it was up and useable in less than 15 minutes. And I was surprised to find that though it was rather sturdy, it is thin enough to pass through doorways and light enough for my four year old to move. Which she does as they both get a kick out of it (thankfully), and it holds their attention for hours. My one year old also uses it to pull himself up and walk around and then there is the climb, so to my delight the toy is pushing him more towards independent walking. When he's happy, I'm thrilled, and he IS happy.
Customer Review: Wonderful Slide!

We got this for my son, age 2 and my daugther age 1. Both of their birthdays are in May so we figured they would both love a slide. My son seems to love the one at the park we go to. My daughter is a little hesitant but I'm sure as she grows she will be more willing to slide with her big bro. My son LOVES this slide. He loves to turn the steering wheel and pretend he's driving a car or as he says a "vroom vroom". I don't think in his 2 years of life I'd ever seen him so happy. We keep this slide inside and it is not too big to fit in our playroom. Lots of space left for the other toys. I did however need to put a blanket at the bottom of the slide because my son would just about fly off the end of the slide and land hard on his backside. But the blanket works great and he just loves this toy! I recommend this for both inside and outside use! The price was great too! I mean you definitely get quality. The assembly too me maybe 15 mintues and doesn't have any small screws that may come off and become a choking hazard! I LOVE THAT FEATURE! Excellent product! Kudos to Target!
