My 3 year old received this saw as a gift and absolutely loves it...even a year later. My husband is very handy and my son's detection system goes off when he sees/hears Daddy using any of his tools. With the Little Tikes Circular Saw, my son can feel like he's part of the crew from a distance of where the real cutting is being done. My son pretends to cut everything with 'his' circular saw (boxes, to books, to pcs of cardboard). He's dropped it many times and it still keeps on running. The sound is very close to the real thing and we always know when he's working! After a year of 'work', 'play', and lots of drops outside we have not had to replace the batteries. Aside from the fun, it's allowed our son to learn safety when using tools and why its important to wear glasses, gloves, ear protection, etc. Just like Daddy, our son knows to put on his Home Depot work goggles when he's using his saw. I would highly recommend this toy for any 'young builder'.
