These are the Legos that I remember growing up. Basic, big blocks - and lot's of them! There are lots of the basic 4x4, 6x6, and 8x8 blocks, with just enough of the bigger 2x blocks and 1x blocks to round out the set. Even the case it comes in is great! They make a great complement to the "Ultimate LEGO Building Set" (which has more unusual - and less used - pieces). I couldn't be happier - and my son loves them!Customer Review: LEGO review

This is a basic set that allows the child to play independently as well as with others. Too many Lego sets require you to build a specific thing,this one allows creativity and imagination. It does not come with the base boards, these can be purchased seperately, but should be included. My 7 year old grandson loves this set,and he can add to it as he gets older. I couldn't find just the basic lego bricks for my grandsons locally. The local big box toy store said they weren't sold that way any more. So I was glad to find them here. My son, their Dad, had so many hours and years of lego play. I don't care for the "specialty" sets to build one of whatever the designer thought of. As a former elementary teacher I prefer the creativity of the basic sets.Customer Review: Spectacular

Used this in a college class, believe it or not. While this is not important to the review of the product, I just want to say this product arrived within three days of my order. I hadn't even received the email confirmation yet! I was so impressed, I ordered a second set and got the same service!!! I bought this set for my grand daughters for Christmas. This set is perfect. Too many of the sets have small pieces but this was the perfect starter set as you could build many things with this set. I decided to get a bulk set for them first & they could add on the smaller sets to add to their pieces. Hours of fun for the whole family. My son still plays with them with his kids & he is 30!
