My 2.5 year old LOVES them! Other reviewers are right that it is difficult to put the first scoop on the cone. The scoops are somewhat flexible and have a lip that fits over a lip on the cone. It is sort of a tight fit, but you can kind of squeeze and shimmy the scoop around until you get the scoop over the lip all around. The plus side of this is that the first scoop is pretty secure once you get it on. I think it will be quite a while before my 2.5 year old can put the first one on or take it off by herself. For now she just sets the scoops on upside down (hollow side up) if I am unavailable to help.
My daughter sometimes gets frustrated when she stacks the scoops too high and they fall off, but such is life! Since the cone is hollow and fairly lightweight, when you stack a lot of scoops on top it becomes top-heavy. The initial scoop stays on well but the other scoops just sit on top of each other- usually not a problem so long as you share the scoops between the two included cones.
I'm not sure why, but there are 2 small holes drilled in each ice cream scoop and in the bottom of each cone. I guess this would come in handy if you used these as bath toys.
Overall I like the toy idea. I think it will last a long time. It made me laugh that my daughter preferred this ice cream toy over almost all of the more expensive Christmas gifts she received.

The eight brightly colored scoops encourage color identification, and stacking the ice cream on the cones promotes fine motor skills. To help preschoolers learn the colors, each scoop is clearly marked on the inside with the name of the color (blue, red, etc.). Scoops measure approximately 3" x 2" each.Awards:
