Customer Review: Fun While it Lasted

This tool set was purchased for twin 3-and-a-half year old girls in July 2007. I read many reviews before purchasing this, and was pleased with the realistic appearance of the tools and the sturdy carrying box they came in. They played with it quite often, but after about 6 months, the drill no longer worked; something broke inside the handle, making the trigger stick. The tape measure's stopper at the end broke off, so the tape goes completely inside the case and gets stuck. The pliers come apart constantly when any grip force is used and if you lose the tiny piece that connects the two handles, you are out of luck. The rest of the pieces still work and are still played with, but with only a few remaining, how fun is that? It is also hard to get the tools into the tool belt in the correct places so they fit. Disappointing...I will most likely replace this toy at Christmas with some other brand of tool set.

This is the first review I've written in a while - really disappointed in the quality of this (even at the low price). Everything is presented very nicely in the case. Within 30 minutes of using, the drill broke -- its motor still runs, but it no longer turns the bit. The work belt has a completely ineffective buckle. The buckle releases as soon as my 3 year old son starts to move around while wearing it - and that's with no tools attached to the belt. The rest of the non-mechanical pieces are fine and realistic looking enough for a little kid. Fortunately, it's hard to mess up with a simple plastic mold. As long as your expectations are along the lines of this review, if shelling out a few bucks for a suite of tools to engage in imaginative play is what you basically want -- this would be okay.Customer Review: Do Not Buy

This toy was a huge disappointment. It is poorly made. As other reviews note, the tool belt does not work well at all. The only way it will stay on is if you feed the belt through belt loops on your childs pants. The clasp won't stay in the plastic belt at all. When we got the toolbox, the pliers broke into two halves immediately, although we snapped them back together. My son cried the first time he used it because he got so frustrated with the belt and when he tried to use the pliers after we put it back together it broke again. Today the measuring tape broke. It's very disappointing because of the poor quality and it really doesn't build much of anything. Save your money and get something else.Customer Review: A Good Buy.

I bought this for my 3 yr old brother as his Christmas gift and he loved it. The tape measurer and hammer were his favorites until we put the batteries into the drill. The kit is realistic looking, fun, and not over-priced. The plastic seems sturdy enough.
My only complaints would be that the drill bit does come off easily, and after the 1st day the tape measurer broke (the tape might've been jerked out of its container though). The tool belt is made of a pliable plastic but I kind of expected it to be more pleather-ish. Also the black clasps on the case fell off but I dont know if it's supposed to do that. Other then that, I think it's a good buy and would recommend it.

I purchased this for my daughter's 3rd Birthday. She loves helping daddy around the house from using a screw driver or measuring tape, she's right there by his side. We thought it would be a great for her to have her own tool kit and tool belt. This toy was such a hit, she absolutely loves it! It has all the essential tools, from hammer, to screw drivers, drill, measuring tape and more. The case is a generous size and everything included is very durable, nothing cheap here. We definitely made the right choice with this selection and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a tool kit for their child, grandchild, etc....you can't go wrong with this one!!!!
