Customer Review: a little too PC maybe?
Summary: 3 Stars
I got this for my kids for Christmas. They seem to enjoy it. I got them the mat as opposed to the hand-held in order to get them hopping around a bit for exercise. A couple gripes--the areas you depress to play are very close to the ones you step on to change the game, repeat the question, etc. So little semi-uncoordinated kids are constantly resetting the game or repeating the question when they're trying to answer. Another thing that irritates me--no matter how many questions you get right it says, "You're amazing!" It gives you the same amount of encouragement if you get one right as it does if you get nineteen. You're always "AMAZING!" I remember having games like that when I was a kid and I was constantly trying to one-up myself or beat my sister's score or whatever. I'm assuming they didn't want to hurt any kids' self-esteem by telling them something less enthusiastic like "good try" or "keep working on it" or whatnot. Overall it's fun and should help them with some math skills in a fun way, but it's far from perfect.
