I finally had to breakdown and get this for my 3 year old after she played with it at numerous friends' houses. This is an absolute must for preschoolers who love pretend play. She plays with it in the kitchen (bakes the cupcakes), but also separates the pieces for tea parties, picnics, etc. (her favorite type of pretend play at the moment). And as she has gotten older, she identifies the shapes, numbers and colors. Soon I think it will help her learn to spell the colors. This is a great toy that works on many levels. Very durable as well--better than most pretend food that come with kitchen sets. My only wish is that the ice cream came with more cones (comes with 8 "scoops" of ice cream, but only 2 cones--makes it hard to share with friends sometimes). A great value to buy all together--I had bought the cookies separately, but a couple months later ended up getting the others anyway and ordered this set (was pretty much the same price as buying ice cream & cupcakes separate and this way we got another jar of cookies as well). The perfect present for a 2 or 3 year old--but older kids who love to play in the kitchen will love it too.Customer Review: Educational fun that they will want to play with

My daughter is 2 and even though she is a little young per the box.. She ADORES these. She already knows her colors so they ice cream is more for imaginary play and review. The cookies have been great, she loves playing with them and she is learning to recognize numbers with these. She works on counting with them but we spend a lot of time playing with this set. The cupcakes have become a game that we play matching the different shapes to the bottoms as well as to the bottom of the muffin pan. She enjoys taking them apart and mixing them up to put them back together. I love jst about every product that we have made by Learning Resources. These are extremely durable and can handle the abude a toddler can give.
The value back is a great deal and keep an eye on it because it often goes on sale - you can get them less than what 2 alone cost!

I bought this for my daughter's first birthday. She is now 2 and still plays with it. All sets are very high quality and durable. She likes to play with the ice cream cones and cupcakes the most, expecially in her play kitchen. She gets frustrated trying to put the ice cream on the cone, (but can stack them easily when I put the first one on), which is my only complaint. I think the ice cream cones have really helped her to learn colors and she is learning her shapes with the cupcakes. She likes to take the cupcakes apart and put them back together as well. The cookie jar is not used too much - she may be a little young to count out the small "chips" on each cookie but we still find ways to practice counting with them. It seems that the sets are much cheaper if purchased separately.Customer Review: Great educational toy... but learn from me and save some money...

First off, I purchased this toy for my 2-year-old, because its educational, durable, and fun (can't get much better than counting candy!)... receiving it, I still think the same...
However, I purchased the Learning Resources "Amazon Exclusive", thinking what a great deal it was! 3 sets in 1! how easy is that? It was only after I purchased it did I realize that I could have saved $5.88 if I had purchased all 3 sets seperately ($13.99x3)... Just a little disappointed, because Amazon usually has the best deals!
I highly recommend all 3 sets; however, purchase seperately!

Bought this for my 3 1/2 yr old daughter this xmas. She just loves it. She pretends shes a waitress and serves me all different cupcakes and ice cream cones. The cookie jar was a little warped so the cover doesn't stay on but no biggie. She just tosses the cookies around anyway. The vibrant colors are eye catching and also educational. I bought another set as a gift from Amazon for only $19 and would definitely give it to a 2 or 3 yr old. Great for pretend and imaginative play.
