Toys and Games Reviews of Learning Resources Pretend and Play School SetCustomer Review: Little School Marm loves it! Summary: 4 Stars
My 7-year-old granddaughter requested this gift after seeing it online. I had purchased a similar product from another source previously which I thought was far superior, but it also had a big price tag. She was thrilled with this and although it seems kind of flimsy, who am I to say what's great or not? I'd say the kid should be the judge. She is especially thrilled with the pointer that comes with this set. She is a 1st grader and has been holding "classes" with her student sibling and cousins throughout the Christmas vacation.
Customer Review: My eight year old daughter loves this! Summary: 5 Stars
This was my 8 year old daughter's favorite Christmas gift. She is "teacher" to her 4 & 6 year brothers (and sometimes their friends). She loves the pointer and the different pads of paper for report cards, grades, hall passes, etc. There is a large pouch to put excess paper in so there's no frustration in trying to fit everything back into it's original spot. Everything is self contained and it folds up to a manageable size. The toy manufacturer states the suggested age as 3+ but I wouldn't buy it for a child under 5.
Customer Review: Most popular toy in my house Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter got this for her seventh birthday, after being disappointed that she didn't get it the previous Christmas. I was reluctant to get it because of the recommended age range. My daughter is very mature and I thought she might be too old for it. At 8 1/2, she still plays with it often and all the kids who come into our house love it too. It's a great toy, but I agree with the other reviewers who think the age range should be listed a bit older.
Customer Review: Wins a Gold Star from Daughter Summary: 5 Stars
My 8-year-old received this last year for Christmas, and yes, it was recommended for 4-5 year olds, but what do they know about really teaching school??? The set up is not a pre-school one, but an elementary school with report cards, attendance lists, etc. This is the one play item that my daughter and her friends always seek out when they come to my house. It is very well done. Would recommend for any child that likes to play school!
Customer Review: Great gift idea! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my 8 yr old for Christmas and it has been one of her favorite new toys. She loves to play school and this keeps all her stuff in one place. It's definitely *not* for 4 yr olds (I was worried it would be too babyish based on the recommended age, but there's no way a 4 yr old could play with this in the way it's intended...my 4 yr old plays 'student', but I really don't see how a non-reader would get much out of this).
