I stalked this set for my 7 year old daughter for Christmas. I had ruled it out because of the $36 price tag. When I saw the price had dropped by more than half, I jumped at the chance to get it. I am so pleased that I did.
The best part for me is that the set comes in its own carrying case. Everything fits in it and stores away in a fairly small space. This helps my children clean it all up after playing and keep all of the items together. it has handles so she can take it to friends' houses and move easily from room to room.
Being 7, she is a little old for the set. But since she is bossy with her younger brother (4) and he is a willing participant in her endless school playing, we decided this would be a good fit for her. We were most certainly correct.
There are so many different things to do with this school set: calendar, weather, US map and world map, dry erase board, report cards, lesson plans, hall passes and more! There is also crayons, eraser, pencils and a little bell that both kids can't get enough of. Add to it all the finger pointer and it is a very cute toy!
The only thing I would recommend is to get extra pads and supplies sold separately with this set. I can see them going through them pretty fast!
