Toys and Games Reviews of Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway - Stop and Go Figure 8 Expansion PackCustomer Review: Fun, Fun, Fun Summary: 4 Stars
We love these trains. They teach a wide range of concepts. Children learn how to fit the pieces together & how to design their own tracks. I have a 3 year old & he absolutely loves the engines. He has learned his colors & how to count objects on these trains. The materials are first rate & are very durable. They are made mostly of wood, which means that they aren't going to break if they are dropped or stepped on (which is good news for parents of preschoolers). The price is very reasonable for what you are getting. The whole set up is very appealing to the eye as well as to the ears. The sound of the clickety clack tracks draw children immediately to them. For the money, there is not a better train product. Also, the figure eight track is the perfect size to start out with. That way if by some chance your child doesn't like it, you won't have invested a huge sum of money in it. Enjoy, and remember, it's for kids from 3-103, so get down there and play too!
Customer Review: A Toy That Continues To Build On Imagination Summary: 4 Stars
Thomas the Train products have always been a favorite for preschoolers, and is often the center of attention at preschools. The Cincinnati Musuem Center, for example, recognizes Thomas the Train products in its children's centers. It is the only product the musuem endorses. The train pieces are perfect sizes for little hands and big imaginations. The figure eight set is a great starter kit. What makes Thomas products most appealing for adults is that you can continue to build-on your train set at a reasonable price over time. And with each build-on your child will erect more and more imagination skills. The cars connect using magnetic energy, making the train pieces easy to handle for young children who are still developing motor skills. In my book of toys to have, Thomas train products are a must have item.
Customer Review: Hours of fun! Summary: 4 Stars
My 3 year old received this train set for Christmas and has loved it. We passed over other train sets to get this one after hearing the testimonial of a salesperson who has collected the series for two years for her son. It's durable, and at 3, he can put it together by himself. This is the perfect starter set for the money and by adding some extra straight track, a small child can climb in the middle of the track, eliminating the need to reach over the track which short three year old arms don't do well. We've already stocked up on additional Thomas pieces for our son's birthday!
Customer Review: Tommy Tank Still Playable after 3 years Summary: 4 Stars
My son, who is now age 6, started getting Thomas the Tank Engine sets, components, and vehicles when he was 2 and a half. Until he was 4, he would be playing with the toy consistantly. Since that time he has acquired new interests in Hot Wheels and MicroMachines. He is now almost 6 years old and still plays with his Thomas the Tank Engine Set occasionally (about once or twice a month). Of all the toys acquired during his early childhood, this one has lasted the most and was played with the most.
Customer Review: Dissapointed Mom Summary: 1 Stars
I was so excited purchasing Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends "Figure 8 Set Expansion Pack" for my three year old son, but upon receiving it in the mail I was dissapointed. Many you all know how expensive these toys are and I thought I was getting a good deal on what the picture showed, but all I got was the "Expansion Tracks". All the accessories shown in the illustration, that look to be included with the set are shown on back of the box as additional pieces to purchase.
