Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog WordLaunch Learn-to-Read-It SystemCustomer Review: Good Toy but expected more from Leap Frog Summary: 3 Stars
Great concept but I expected more from Leap Frog. I expected the graphic and sound quality to be as good or better than all the previous DVDs but that is not the case. Extremely disapointed that none of my sons magnetic letters from the Word Wammer and Fridge Phonics don't work with this toy.
In my opinion, it was important to hear the familiar voice of Professor Quigly. Maybe the next version will be improved.
Customer Review: Leap Frog Word Launch Summary: 4 Stars
My 4 year old just began using this video electronic toy. It hooks right up into your tv. It's easy to use and keeps my son entertained for a while.
A few set backs to this toy/game are the following: it only allows four letter words; it does not correct a misspelled word or a word that doe snot exist; it does not say the word when it is spelled.
Otherwise it s an excellent concept.
Customer Review: One wish Summary: 4 Stars
My only complaint is that I wish the game had a power light so you know when it is on and when it is off. If there was a light I would have known for sure that my batteries were good or bad. It took a lot of trial runs to get it connected to the tv correctly and a power light would have taken one step out of those trial runs. Once connected, it was great!
Customer Review: Disappointed Educator Summary: 2 Stars
Parents BEWARE!!! Several of the sounds are pronounced INCORRECTLY in ALL of the Leapfrog toys. /r/ is pronounced as /er/ when you say "robot" it's not an "er-bot". /l/ is pronounced as /ul/ with the schwa+l which is also incorrect. These toys have a great purpose but be prepared to correct your children when they pronounce these sounds the wrong way.
Customer Review: Fun for 3-4 year olds Summary: 4 Stars
My son just turned 3 and loves this game. My son is advanced for his age and this is just what he needs to make learning words fun. I would ignore the comments about the graphics. We use the game on our 32 inch TV and the graphics are fine for a 3 year old. What do parents expect for $22?
I recommend this game for children under 5.
