Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog WordLaunch Learn-to-Read-It SystemCustomer Review: It a good start off tool Summary: 3 Stars
My 4 1/2 year old likes this leapfrog game. He particularly likes that he can try and form his own words. Whether that is good for him or not, I do not know, but he seems to believe that he is doing a great job and I don't believe in discouraging him. He plays with this about once a week. For the price I paid, I think it was a well spent dollar. The only down side to me is the letters. Yes, they are not compatable with the other leapster items (which is not a big deal to me) but they need to put the letters in a cardboard tray for play of this game. That takes the longest and fustrates him the most.
Customer Review: lots of fun Summary: 4 Stars
I have purchased this game for my home daycare. The kids love it and don't even realize they are learning! They are just having fun slamming the whammy! It is also easier because they can learn at their own level and it advances based upon the words they have learned/ recognized so far.
There are 2 things that I don't like about it: 1 is there is sometimes a noise that comes from the tv during certain gameplay, and there is no place to put the letter tray (rather large) for the kids to be able to play and easily reach all the tiles.
Customer Review: 3 year old loves it Summary: 4 Stars
My son received this toy for Christmas. The graphics are not the best. However, he has so much fun with it. He has quickly figured out how to navigate around the game. I like the fact that the game progresses through levels as he learns. The games hold his attention, and challenges him at the same time. I think the purchase of this product depends on the individual child. Some children will like it, and some won't. My son certainly has benefited from this product.
Customer Review: Quite Disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this product recently and promptly returned it. I did not like the games or the graphics, but what I disliked most about the toy is when an incorrect word is spelled it just says "Sounds nice". All of the LeapFrog products I have purchased before will tell my son when an answer or action is incorrect. I strongly suggest LeapFrog think about the concept again for this toy. I will not purchase it again unless the company produces a better version.
Customer Review: leap frong word launch Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter is nonverbal with cognitive and fine motor problems. this toy is great for her to learn her letters, to spell, for attention, and easy to help her working with fine motor skills. It holds her attention with the colors, music, matching, and the ease of the game. I'm so happy that I purchased this for her. Parents, etc., should be aware of the advantages this toy has for special needs children right along with our non-special needs children.
