Brought these for a 9 month old, to have something in his hands while waiting to be feed. He loves them takes them all around the house when crawling, has them in the hi chair, they are very durable. He dances to the music, as he gets older it will help him count, and learn colors. This is a great toy, a gift for 1 yr old birthday. Toddler loves it and parents have learned colors in Spanish. Perfect size for small hands, 2 volume controls, 3 options for fun sounds or colors, not too much flashing light. I'm sensitive to flashing lights, so was concerned at first, but the flashes are muted and not disturbing.Customer Review: took my toddler about 1 month

Of all the toys I have purchased, this one is the best in that my toddler loves to use them.
Took him about 1 month though....I figure the problem is the weight and size, it requires quite a bit of finger dexterity and arm muscles.
It teaches my kid ABC and 123 (English and Spanish). Highly recommended.

Although my girl is 16 months old, she hasn`t had fun with it yet. It is very hard for her to make it shake or say the words (numbers or colors)Sometimes she shaked a lot, and she doesn`t have any response.... it`s frustrating....
I love leapfrog toys, but I`m very disappointed with the maracas.
