My 8 month old loves these things. I can't comment on how much she's learning but she really enjoys banging them on the floor and on themselves, hearing the noise and seeing the colors change. These things are durable for sure. She bangs them, chews on them and drops them on hardwood floors. I now have the darned voice in my head though, "Shake it up!" but I'll live. :)Customer Review: It's the 1st toy my son grabs everyday!

This is the 1st toy my son (age 1) grabs from his toy basket. He loves them. If he doesn't have both of them in his hands then he at least has one of the maracas. He has even turned the one on by himself a couple of times. If he can't get it turned on, he'll crawl over to me and hand it to me so I can turn it on. He loves to dance to the music as he shakes them.Customer Review: Awesome Toy!

I got these for my 1 year old Nephew for christmas, I wanted something he could grow with a bit but still enjoy now that was educational. He loved shaking the maracas and watching the colors change and he was even trying to mimic the voice counting colors and numbers a few times.
Definitely a great choice for any young kid who loves music.

We gave these maracas to our grandchildren -- 16-month old triplets! They enjoyed the music and the colors, but are, of course, too young to evaluate the educational value. The only drawback is that the maracas are a little heavy. However, we wished there had been three maracas, one for each of the triplets, to eliminate the problem of sharing!Customer Review: Never Shuts Up

My one year old carries these around like caveman clubs and hits stuff with them. The one that actually makes music takes FOREVER to turn off on its own. I can only tolerate giving him that one once in a while. Neither of us are huge fans of them. However, it is neat how the colors actually change and it does count. But it's still annoying.
