Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Learn & Groove Alphabet Drum

Customer Review: A Little Too Interactive
Summary: 4 Stars

This alphabet drum is definitely good quality and the sounds and functions are very stimulating. I rated it a 4, however, because I think it's a little too high tech. There is no ability for the child to simply hit the drum to learn how to "create" music on their own. It is a bit overstimulating with colors and the alphabet. I wish that it at least was a little bit more drum and a little less glitz.

Customer Review: Just okay
Summary: 3 Stars

I'm not saying this is a bad product, but my son usually will only give this toy any attention for about three minutes and then moves on to more of his favorites. The toy is very durable though and helps with learning the alphabet and numbers too. It plays a few songs and has a spanish setting which could be good later on. Maybe my son isn't at the right age for this right now which is 15 months.

Customer Review: Long term toy for a range of ages.
Summary: 4 Stars

We like this drum because it speaks english and spanish. It also does the alphabet, music and solo playing. Although my 6 month is still learning how it works she does enjoy the playtime we have together with this drum.

It is a little large for small hands and 6 months may be a bit too young. We still enjoy it and hope it is a toy that our daughter will continue to use as she grows.

Customer Review: Too much in one
Summary: 3 Stars

I don't like this toy, because it tries to pack too much into one toy. Yes, exposing children to numbers and letters early on is good, and this toy will definitely get their attention, but I think the LED letters and numbers on top of the music are just too much at once. Maybe if you could turn off the background music and listen only to the numbers or letters, it would make a little more sense.

Customer Review: 1 dimensional product, possibily sending mixed messages.
Summary: 3 Stars

Love the idea of spanish and english alphabet. My baby doesn't seem that interested in the product though. I keep on thinking perhaps I could have bought a more multi-functional item for him to learn his ABCs. Also not sure it is a great idea to encourage him to hit/bang on things.... He gets mixed messages when it is OK to bang on drum or hit drum.. but not the dog/glass tables etcs..
