Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Learn & Groove Alphabet Drum

Customer Review: Great Baby Shower Gift
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this drum for my daughter when she was three months old. (I know she was a little young) She really started playing with it around six months old. She would use the drum to help her sit up. There is a song that the drum plays that she loves. She dances every time she hears it. I like how you can change the language from English to Spanish. Hopefully, it will help her learn her ABC's in both languages. My daughter loves it so much we have given it as a baby shower gift three times.

Customer Review: Volume too low
Summary: 1 Stars

Considering that this is a 'drum' and that kids are expected to 'bang' it, you'd think the volume would at least me loud enough so that you could hear it.

But that is not the case with this. I bought this item for my 1.5 year old and he never learnt anything (alphabet etc) because the volume was never loud enough to attract his attention.

It is a very frustrating product because the only way to enjoy it is by hitting the drum softly...which kinda defeats the purpose.

Customer Review: 9 month old boy
Summary: 4 Stars

I've been wanting to get this toy for my son ever since he was born. My goddaughter had this toy and she LOVED it and played with it constantly- and it was educational! I like the old leap frog drum a lot better though (the one she had) because it had a level for JUST letter and JUST numbers- and this new one doesn't; just mostly letters. THAT was a little disappointing, but he still loves it, especially since he knows how to work it now. I would give it a 4 star rating as a whole.

Customer Review: Very durable, but better suited for older toddlers
Summary: 4 Stars

We got this for our baby's 1st birthday (now 20 mos old). He doesn't really like to bang on it like bongos, or make the alphabet cycle through. He mostly just likes to throw it on the floor and watch it roll away. Considering how much it's been thrown, it is really quite durable. I think, though, that this is a toy older toddlers (3 maybe?) would be more interested in than the younger ones. Our baby still hasn't really shown any interest in it yet.

Customer Review: Great toy and fun to play with
Summary: 5 Stars

Son (9 months) loves this toy - he likes to hit things and this one rewards him for doing it. And it's durable and smooth - so when he tries to take a bite out of it (very frequent - he's a fussy teether) it doesn't hurt him or the toy. A 5 year old friend of ours also likes this toy (for shorter periods of time at a time) - he shows me how he knows his a-b-c's on it. And we can all get silly and dance with it while it plays music in dance mode.
