Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Learn & Groove Alphabet DrumCustomer Review: spends more time with this toy, than others combined Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my grandson who has been receiving physical therapy. They were using this toy in therapy to help him keep his hand straight and not curl it up. I bought this so he could practice at home and have his own little drum. He loves the music and the beats, and very quickly achieved his goal with the assistance of this toy. He will be 12 months old this month, has two huge toy chests, but this is the most loved and valuable toy of them all. Anytime I have to buy a toy for a baby gift, it will be this little drum. It is well built, very sturdy and not only helps with dexterity but is educational.
Customer Review: It's alright Summary: 3 Stars
This toy is just "okay." We got it as a baby shower gift and we took it out when my daughter was around 6 months old. She couldn't drum on it quite then, but now that she's over a year, she's able to drum without problems.
But does she like to play with this? Not so much. She'll maybe get through half of the alphabet and then move on to the next toy. It'll occupy her for maybe 30 seconds. So is it worth to have? I don't think so. But maybe she'll end up liking it down the road when she's older. I guess only time will tell! :)
Customer Review: 9 month and mommy love it! Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this drum for our baby. She is now nine months old and loves to beat on the walls/doors at home, therefore, we thought she needed a drum. This drum teaches alphabets while you hit it (in English and Spanish). It is not very loud and won't drive you crazy. Christmas has not come yet, but we have already been playing with it, and she absolutely loves it! If you want a toy that your child will play with instead of only playing with the box it came in - this is the one (especially if your child likes to hit things like mine does).
Customer Review: Wonderful! Summary: 5 Stars
I got this for my son at about 5 and a half months old. It was his first toy that is more specifically meant for sitting upright. He loves it! All 3 modes are very entertaining, and of course the ABC mode is educational. He really enjoys the graphics and the music. I like that he can hit the drum anywhere and it will still make the drumming noise (he sometimes turns it on its side because that is where the speaker is). My best friend bought one as well on my recommendation and her 6 month old daughter loves it!
Customer Review: Not as much fun as I thought Summary: 3 Stars
This drum looked cute when I purchased it but once we played with it I was dissapointed. There just doesn't seem to be enough of a response when my 11 month old drums on it. The alphabet mode is defintely the best of the 3 modes, with the letters coming up. But the other modes continually play music to where when my daughter hits it, there isn't really a reaction, just continuing the music. She has never really had interest in this toy. Maybe she will later but for now it's going in the toy chest.
