This charger is a godsend. It may seem a bit expensive, but it more than pays for itself after a few months. Sometimes you need to adjust how the L-Max sits in the charger... you need to be aware of whether it is seated correctly and is charging before walking away (the speed of a blinking light at the base of the product is the indicator).
Overall, this product is worth buying.

Well, thank goodness for recharger systems. I have two boys who each have their own leapster...we were going through AA batteries like crazy, causing some tears in the car. We purchased these battery packs - they stay charged a long time and they can also play the games on the charger. They are simple enough for the boys to take the games on and off the charger. We've had this charging system now for three years, use it every 3-4 days or so, and it's still going strong. It is a must for the L-max system but well worth the money. Found it on sale at the local huge toystore, which particularly offers incentives at Christmas and Easter. This is well worth the money added to an already valuable investment in the L-max. We got the Leapster L-Max and were burning through batteries at an excessive speed (4 AA batteries after approximately 12 hours of playing). Now the recharging system allows us to recharge the unit when needed and reduces the need for expensive replacement batteries. I would recommend the recharging system for any Leapster game system.Customer Review: awesome $$$ saver!

i love the recharger! it saves batteries and i haven't had any problems with it. the only thing that i would like would be to have the option to purchase just the battery pack that works with the charger...we have 2 l-max's in the house and i don't think it's right that i have to buy 2 chargers. that's just my thought.
