Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Leapster and L-Max Recharging System - not for use with Leapster 2

Customer Review: Broken
Summary: 1 Stars

I live in Ukraine - so I had to have the charger brougt over with a friend who was going to spend some time in Kiev. I received it brand new in the box never opened and it was not working. I can only use the Leapster-Max with replacable batteries. It will not even work with the cord plugged into the game from the charger. Because we have noone else to bring it back to America for us - I guess we are just stuck with it - and will "eat" that nearly [...]. I am usually happy with Leapster products and with Amazon - but this time I am disappointed and feel stuck!

Customer Review: The Charger is GREAT!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am so glad I purchased the charger - it was well worth the $$! Having the charger means I don't have to get the screwdriver, take the batteries out, charge them, get the screwdriver again and put them back. I like the fact that my 5 year old can click this right onto the charger by himself and take if off by himself. Or I can click it on to the cradle at night when we go to bed and it's ready to go in the morning. It's very easy! And I have not yet had a problem with him wanting to play with the system and it not being charged, and he plays it almost daily.

Customer Review: Easy to use!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this for my 6 year old daughter. We've used it once to get the initial charge and it's very easy to use! If she used her leapster more frequently, I'd probably find a home to leave the charger plugged in all of the time. She could easily slide her leapster into this with no problems. I'd have to say it is a lot easier to use than the original leapster! I still haven't been able to get the rechargeable battery into "the original" leapster -- a bit frustrating! BUT, the L-Max system was easy to install the rechargeable battery.

Customer Review: We NEEDED this
Summary: 5 Stars

I can't imagine how many batteries our Lmax would have sucked up, so this battery charger is a must have. Conversely we could have bought rechargeable batteries, but this just seemed like the more convienient choice for us.

It has a green indicator light that blinks when charging and goes solid green when done. You have to make sure the L-max (or leapster) is set on the cradle correctly so the light pops on, it is easy initally before you are used to the feel of it to set it on but not have it docked correctly.

Customer Review: They all love it!
Summary: 5 Stars

My oldest son was given an L-Max for Christmas and loves it. He drained the batteries in two days. (We're getting a recharger now.) His two younger brothers sit on either side of him and watch him as he plays, and once in a while he lets our four year old use it too. The games seem easy to play and actually teach kids something instead of just being a "mindless" game. We started out with two games and are now ordering more. We have not tried any of the L-Max games yet, but hope to soon. The game is also great for long trips!
