Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game Pet PalsCustomer Review: My daughter is obssesed with This Toy! Summary: 5 Stars
100% Fun and Entertainment. The learning I haven't seen too much although it does teach responsibility for your pet caring. I have also seen her writing Letters. It's a little like Dogs from DS but I find this super cute and more entertaining than the DS for Pets. Just like that game you get to put water for your dog, wash your pup, name him and all the basics of caring for your pet. She is 6yrs old and can't get enough so I imagine this would work for a child 3 to 8 years old. The song is catchy and she can't stop singing it. I had to give it 5 stars because she is sitting next to me screaming mom 5 stars!! I love it!! Ok so i guess nuff said. Very well worth the money. Thank you to everyone who placed reviews prior to X-mas because you guys were right!
Customer Review: My 4-Year-Old LOVES this game! Summary: 5 Stars
I just bought my 4-year-old the Leapster for Christmas and with it I got this game Pet Pals. It was his favorite game and still is! He is allergic to dogs so now he calls this his virtual dog! He even picked out the dog he wanted himself (there are like 3 different dogs to choose from) and he named it. He loves using the pen to take the dog to different rooms, play the mini games, take the dog for walks, and wash the dog clean. He also really loves playing the dress up game.
He has had no trouble playing this game on his own. We have never had to help him and he feels like he is a very big boy because he can work it himself. He even wants to take the Leapster to bed with him with this game inside it!
Customer Review: Great pre-school game for Leapster Learning System Summary: 5 Stars
I love this game because it will grow with your child. My daughter is three and knows how to use the Leapster system well. It was introduced to her by an older friend who taught her how to use it when she was 2 1/2. The games that require the pen are great for younger children and as she gets older the games that require use of the arrows are a bit more complex and help with small motor skills. The great thing about these games are that there are many activities to choose from and she never gets bored playing with it. Her favorite activities at this age are: shopping, dress up and practicing tracing her numbers. Highly recommended game cartridge for this learning system!
Customer Review: Great game for my 4 year old! Summary: 5 Stars
My 4 year old (almost 5) got this game for Christmas and he has spent hours playing with it! He is in pre-kindergarten right now, but doesn't know his ABC's or numbers very well and can't read at all, so a lot of the Leapster games he doesn't like to play because he can't do them by himself. But he loves taking care of his puppy in this game. The game verbalizes what to do so that he doesn't have to read. There are some learning games also, which he tries, with the help of his big sister. It was a fantastic toy for the 13 hour road trip we took! But even at home, he plays it all the time!! I definitely recommend it, especially for those younger ones who can't read yet.
Customer Review: Pet Pals is fun AND educational Summary: 5 Stars
My son got this for Christmas with his first Leapster 2. He immediately took to it. He enjoys taking care of a dog and doing all the things he needs to prepare the dog for the pet show. I only wish that you could re-choose your puppy each time you play. I guess that is why they have three name slots available on the Leapster for Users. The game is pretty challenging on higher levels but I can see his progression and his confidence building as he plays it more and more. This is an awesome game for dexterity, writing letters, and learning the basic functions of the control pad and the stylus pens as well.
