Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game Go Diego Go!Customer Review: A Definite Hit Summary: 5 Stars
We purchased Leapsters and several game cartridges for my sons ages 7 & 5. My oldest autistic son received this game and it is by far both of their favorites. They also received Creature Create, Pet Pals (both of which bore them), Ratatouille, and Cars:Supercharged (Their second favorite). They both have a lot of fun playing this game, and their 3 year old brother even loves this one (he's the only real Diego fan of the lot). There are three different "Missions" and within each mission, there are quite a few questions to answer. The child first has to find the question mark, which then asks them a learning question. Then three or four answer banners appear within each section and the child must find the correct answer. The gate to the next section/question will then be open. There is also a "mini-game" within each mission that asks a learning question. The higher levels have pattern completion, addition, < or >, etc. I am pleasantly surprised with this game, especially since the older ones are not Diego fans, but LOVE this game.
Customer Review: Great game when compared to others Leapster games we have Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter loves Diego, so that helps a lot. She is a bit young for the game, but she has been playing it more lately. We've had it for about two months. There are very basic games that have the player just search around for shapes or numbers before the player can move on (through a doorway) to the next puzzle. I believe there are three main missins that each have three levels and I think there are a few minigames as well. I played it for a bit, so I could understand what was going on and help my daughter figure it out. I did become bored rather quickly picking up food boxes. Still, I think it is a great overall game and is much better than the Little Mermaid or the default games that come with the unit.
Customer Review: My 4yr old loves this game Summary: 4 Stars
My son got a leapster and this game for Christmas and first he didn't play with it at all till the ride to Grandma's house. We had to show him how to do somethings first on it. This was his first exposure to any real video game stuff on his own.
Once he got the hang of it he will play it on a regular basis now. I like that it uses numbers or letters for him to try and accomplish the task. And he's so thrilled when he "Resues" an animal! He'll scream out "Mom, I rescued all the Penguins". I wish they had more kids games for this like Phinneas & Ferb. Guess we'll have to move up to the DS soon, but for now this is great for him!
Customer Review: The BEST game so far Summary: 5 Stars
If I could give it more stars I would... seriously. My daughter is 4 and has about 7 Leapster games and this is by far her favorite. It is very educational and very fun (I've played it a few times :) She learns so much from her Leapster and I can't wait until she is old enough to get into some of the reading games!!! I also recommend Cars LeapFrog Leapster® Educational Game: Cars and Number RaidersLeapFrog Leapster® Educational Game: Number Raiders
Customer Review: Awesome leapster game!! Summary: 5 Stars
We got this for our 3yo son for Christmas. We weren't expecting him to catch on right away since he is so young (just turned 3 in Nov.) but he proved us wrong. He quickly learned how to control Diego and complete the missions.
There are 3 areas to play (desert, rain forest, Antarctica) and each area has 3 levels of difficulty to chose from. The first level teaches basics such as "Find the number 4" "Find a red shape". The more difficult levels work on larger numbers and math skills.
I think my son will be able to grow into this game and be able to use it for several years. Great game!
