Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog® Leapster L-Max® Game: Letters on the LooseCustomer Review: LETTERS ON THE LOOSE IS FABULOUS! Summary: 5 Stars
Letters on the Loose is fabulous! My daughter is 3 1/2 years old and she LOVES this game! She likes the encouragement that the game provides and loves it when she gets things right...lol Right now we have the regular leapster. And this game I highly recommend, my daughter writes her own letters and then says to me, "mommy look at my letter book!" I have the letter factory which she likes, but this is more fun for her! I also have the word factory and in all honesty just bought that one, and haven't had the chance for her to play that one yet :) I have been trying to get her to work on her letters and this is the thing that is helping....Thanks Leapfrog for a job well done :) I am a very Happy mom...
Customer Review: Excellent learning tool! Summary: 5 Stars
Buy this thing for everyone with a preschooler! It's really that good - letters are taught and they learn how to make them correctly. It's amazing. The child goes through the entire alphabet, both upper and lower case, and adds each letter to the alphabet book. If you really want a great learning experience, be sure to get the Letter Factory DVDs, as well as the Math Circus. These tools are nothing short of amazing and I just cannot believe how much has been learned in our house with this Leapfrog system. Awesome, awesome toy (they don't know they're learning!) and I just cannot recommend it enough! A must for preschoolers just learning their letters and those getting ready for kindergarten.
Customer Review: A great learning game, especially for learning to write letters Summary: 5 Stars
This game's strong point is that it helps children learn to write the letters, both upper and lower case. Of course for the younger kids, it would help with letter recognition, and what sound the letters make... so there is something for everyone with this game, no matter what skill level they would be starting with.
I like the fact that this game was designed to be played on the TV, but quite honestly, I have discovered that the older Leapster cartridges can be used with the TV too. The features aren't quite as "spiffy" but you can still plug it in and see the game play out on the TV just like you would the newer upgraded L-Max games.
Customer Review: Fabulous for Reluctant Writers! Summary: 5 Stars
I loved Letter Factory and this is a perfect writing addition to it. I have a 5 year-old son who hates to write, but he loves to write with this! He thinks it's so cool that he can see his own written letters placed in a digital book. I like that it makes him retrace letters if he strays too far from the dotted lines and the beginning-end points. He used to be a sloppy writer, but this game has taught him to trace carefully. My 2 year-old son is learning to trace with this, too. I thought he would get frustrated because he had to retrace so many times, but he didn't, and it just gave him more practice. He was so excited when his letters showed up on the TV.
Customer Review: Spectacular! Summary: 5 Stars
We got this cartridge for my 5 1/2 year old daughter and my 4 year old son. What is great about this particular cartridge is that it works great for kids at different ages and levels of ability. My 4 yo is learning to write letters and my dd is gaining more confidence and getting more practice in her letter writing skills which is precisely what each one needed. She is so excited to show me the letter on the tv that she made on her leapster to put into her talking alphabet book. Plus they have fun games for each letter that challenges their hand-eye coordination. This has just become the new favorite!
