My little Starr received this as a Christmas gift and since she is soon to be 3, her favorite areas are the shape builder and musical tree. The only problem we have with the Leapster is the wand (pen). After caliberizing the toy at least three different times, it still does not register the center area of the games and we are now having difficulty with the color barn area. Overall, it is a great idea but the functions need to be checked a little more thoroughly.Customer Review: A bit overpriced.

I'm actually shocked at how much this costs (currently, anyway). I paid about half for this same case, and while it's nothing special, it has definitely served it's purpose.
A little more storage room would be nice. My son currently stores his Leapster, and about six games in this case. If you plan purchasing a lot of games, and storing them all together in one bag, I'd recommend simply buying a small children's backpack for storage instead.

Of all the toys Christmas day, this one was played with the most - and it still is. It is a great boredom buster for the car and the doctors office. The games have a variety of skill levels. The buttons are simple to locate and light up or blink when they need to be used. My Kindergartener had no problem playing it independently. I bought the game for my 5 year old. My 7 year old plays with it a lot, but says the games are too easy for her.Customer Review: The Best Educational Toy

Grandma bought the Leapster for my 5 year old for Christmas. It is the biggest hit ever! My two year old even sits with his older brother and watches and listens and I am sure he's learning. It won't be long before I'll have to invest in one for him also. My 5 year old will play with it for an hour or so at a time. I just can't wait for the Recharging System. He's playing with it so much we'll need to take stock in Duracel or Energizer.Customer Review: Great toy for kids

I bought this toy for my 4 year old and she likes to play the matching games the most. My 6 year old loves playing it. He received Game Boy for Christmas and he asks his sister to play with the Leapster all the time. Some of the games are a little too difficult for 4 year olds but they are definitely great for 6 year olds. My concen is the pen, I am afraid it may break like our Leappad pen did. I recommend buying the carrying case.
