We have the Leapster System and several cartridges. Contrary to the review that another person has left, we have found this case to be VERY good.
YES, IT *IS* STURDY! It has survived quite a bit of dropping and abuse, AND it has a special pocket for holding all of our many cartidges!
The only down-side is that there is no special place for extra batteries NOR anywhere to store/attach headphones. But these are comparitively minor issues, and the case

I think it's a great item to have if your child will be moving around with the game. This is especially true if frequently taking the Leapster out of the house. My only two complaints are that there is no wrist strap and there isn't enough room for spare batteries if you carry more than two cartridges. It is semi-soft, which is great. It offers protection for the game without a lot of "ouchies" for my little one. For the same reason it is also easy clean-up. This toy if I can call it that is such a hit with my 4 year old that her brother (11) keeps trying to play with it when she is in the only place she doesn't / can't take it, the bath tub!
She has play with this over all her other item's she got for Christmas, This was well worth the money!!
We are trying to get/find where to buy the charger and case.
Please LeapFrog get to work on more software for the leapster ASAP her birthday is not far off!! :) *****

I must admit this case is not as protective or durable as I would have liked. I think the outer shell really needs to be harder. I think it's necessary because it does hold the games and I personally don't like my kids leaving an $80 toy lying around unprotected. Our Lepasters go in the case when not being played with. If you plan on using the Leapster outside the home at all it's definitely a must! I think it's a bit overpriced by about 7-10 dollars, but a necessary buy.Customer Review: What would I do without it?

I am so glad for this case. It has room for lots of cartridges. It is also big enough that the leapster does not need to come out of the case to use. The case is padded so I feel confident that there is protection for the leapster. The handle is child friendly so my daughter has to carry her own belongings. The zipper with the big cord makes my child feel like she can do it herself and she can! Independance is on its way already. Yeah for parents everywhere.
