My son got his Leapster for Christmas and brings it everywhere. Until now we were keeping his cartridges in a sandwich bag. This case is great - it protects the unit itself and has a pocket to keep the games. I think that it does a great job of keeping everything all together especially when the Leapster is on the go with us! I know some are disappointed that the case isn't hard plastic, but I think that for the price it's great (and some protection is better than no protection and at least the games aren't just lying around everywhere). Definately a must have if your child has the Leapster!!!!Customer Review: Good for leapster, but not for cartridges

I agree that this is a good case for protecting the Leapster. My four year old son has had this case for a year, and even when he has dropped it, the Leapster is fine.
My problem with the case is the pouch for cartridge storage. As other reviews stated, it is simply a small mesh pouch with a velcro flap over it. We have had cartridges fall out many times, and we have lost my son's favorite game because of this.
If you are looking for a case to protect the leapster, this is fine, but if you want something to securely store the cartridges, you'll want to look for something else.

Purchased Leapster and case for Christmas 2005. Zipper broke last night (not even 3 months later). We have always been careful with the Leapster and case so it's not being tossed around. I saw one review that indicated it's a problem if you have a cartridge inserted when placing in the case. Maybe that's the problem but it didn't seem like that would matter. Case needs to be a tad bit bigger so there is not so much stress on the case. I'm going to give another one a try hoping it will be better. I really can't imagine not having a case to keep all the games, etc. together.Customer Review: A must have!

Along with absolutely LOVING our leapster, I love the case, too. I do find it protective enough (if it's not, then the kids aren't responsible enough to own the Leapster in the first place). It's sturdy enough to protect in case of an accidental drop and keeps any spills, etc., away from the leapter. Would it protect the leapster from a hard throw? Probably not - thus not for rougher kids.
I do agree with the reviewer who said the cartridge pocket should have a zipper - I'd feel a tad better knowing there was more keeping them in then just the velcro.

My son just got his leapster for x-mas( of course we gave it to him) and he is so excited w/ it! He can't seem to put it down. The reason is that as for me is an investment because it's like a video game but also educational and my son is mild autistic so he attention is not really there but I gave him this and he is too trill to put it down and I'm not lying which I could never be so happy see the expression of his face! Once again leapfrog out done themselves with this product! I guarantee it, ONCE AGAIN PEOPLE IT'S AN INVESTMENT FOR THE BEST OF YOUR CHILDREN!
