Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Leapster Carrying CaseCustomer Review: Better Option than Gameboy Summary: 5 Stars
We bought a Leapster for our 4 year old and he LOVES it. We've taken it on long road trips, to the store, to restaurants (a welcome diversion while waiting to be seated) and he never gets tired of it. He thinks he has a handheld video game just like his older cousins, but he's learning his letters and numbers, money, phonics, math . . . the list goes on. Leave it to LeapFrog to come out with an educational video game that can hold the attention of a young child for hours at a time. I just hope that they come out with more titles soon. This is something I can see my son (and later, his little sister) using for years.
Customer Review: parent of pdd child, thankyou leapster! Summary: 5 Stars
i have a daughter who is labeled pdd. she is slightly autistic and even though she is 5 years old, she acts younger. this toy has been a fantastic find. she can't put it down. it is helping her learn because she doesn't think it's work, it's too enjoyable to be work. she has dropped it 3 times already and it still keeps going. take it in the car, take it to the mall, the grocery store, and a restaurant(with sound turned down) her older brother and cousins(oldest is 13) all fight over it.please, please come out with more games. dora and spongebob are perfect.she's learning to spell, thankyou leapster for everthing.
Customer Review: A lunchbox works better Summary: 2 Stars
We looked carefully at these when buying cases for both our kids leapsters and decided on a simple lunchbox instead. It allows the kids to carry all their games, a spare set of batteries, the wall plug, AND their leapster all in one carrier. We've used this method for several months now and both kids (ages 3 and just 5) can open and close the cases easily. My son has the leapster game case, but we haven't gotten my daughter one of those yet and she's simply using an old walkman case to contain her games.
AND... if they ever get tired of their leapster the case can carry something else (even lunch).
Customer Review: A MUST FOR ALL .....mums too Summary: 5 Stars
Have you ever really wanted a toy that didn't just encourage square eyes and selective hearing in your child ??? this is it. My daughter started with the leapster at three and has cherished it..this quasi - game boy gave her confidence with letters, numbers, co-ordination challenges and we are now stocking up on new and more difficult games. A better start than the leap pad which she gets bored with at the moment because she thinks its a reading exersize.
Its also a good stress buster for us parents who missed the play box era and still enjoy a good game at packman level !"!!!
Thanks leapster.
Customer Review: NOT WORTH IT !!! Summary: 1 Stars
Most reviewers here were writing only about the leapster and not about the case. My friend has a case. Fortunately I examined hers before buying one. I am glad I did not buy it. The case is soft and readily collapes. It is very poor quality. I wish I could give it 0 stars. The pocket which holds extra cartridges is simply a mesh pocket with an elastic band closure and it is easy for the cartridges to escape.
Instead I purchased a small sturdy cosmetic case for eight bucks which works well. My friend ended up throwing hers away and buying a similiar case. Do not buy this, it is not worth the money.
