Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog LeapStart® Learning TableCustomer Review: Great Table for the Money Summary: 4 Stars
This table is great because it has 2 sound settings and 2 learning settings.
The table has nice chunky legs so it will not tip over. If you have a little explorer like I do you may want to find a table with smaller legs. My little one keeps getting stuck under the table. He likes to crawl under things. He is only 20 lbs and is my peanut.
The table has many activities. My boys favorites are the sliding trombone and the spinning wheel. There is also a little lever toy, a key board, push button and door. In the middle is a hard plastic book where they can decided between the two settings of learning. The first page is learning with counting and the alphabet the second page is music. My boys prefer the second page. I do not know if it has to do with the page colors. The music page is soft reds and oranges. The learning page is cool whites, blues and greens.
My only concern about the table is the little purple door. My boys keep taking the door off. I find them walking around with their prize. It is not small enough to fit in their mouths but still presents concerns.
Great table for the money.
Customer Review: They'll keep coming back Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this table for my daughter for her very first Christmas when she was about 9 months old. She loved it! She loved to get it to sing the ABC song so she could wiggle her booty. After a few months she moved onto other things and it went into her room, but she would still wander over to it every once in a while to hear it play music. When her little sister was about six months old we brought it back downstairs. Well my younger daughter loves it just as much as her big sister and when the older child saw it again she began to play with it all over again. The two will sit for hours playing together with that table. It's super sturdy so you don't have to worry about it collapsing on unsteady creepers. My older proves this by dragging it over to the counter and using it to reach things she wants. I love this toy! It buys me time to get something done. The best part is, not only is it durable, but when the batteries die it doesn't make that possessed toy noise other toys make. It just plays a note over and over again ever minute. I would not only recommend this toy I would purchase it as a gift or for myself if, God forbid, I were to have any more children.
Customer Review: Our Best Purchase Yet! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this toy for my not quite 7 month old 2 weeks ago. He loves to pull up and stand so this sounded like it would be great. The only problem is he doesn't know to use the small green grips on the edges so he grabs anything he can on the top of the table (ie knobs) to pull himself up. Consequently he sometimes (not always) pulls the table over on himself. I think once he learns to use his legs a bit more and not so much upper body he'll be fine. However, once he's up he LOVES IT! He plays with it for a long time. He has learned to walk around the sides of it and can even move from the table to other objects around him. He just turned seven months old this week so he's doing great. The music is great and the learning mode is fun as well. He has learned how to do everything except the shapes in the corner. I think he just hasn't noticed them yet. The trombone, book and banjo are his favorites. I tried to let him play with it without the legs but he crawled the other way. For him the excitement is standing up to play. I think this will keep him entertained for a long time to come. I would highly recommend this product.
Customer Review: I like it but... Summary: 3 Stars
I just purchased this for my 10 month old daughter based on some of the reviews. She actually likes this table alot, however, she gets her fingers caught in the book in the center of the table and the little purple box that you open and shut that says hello, bye-bye.Also we have hard wood floors and this thing slides like crazy so someone has to stand there and hold it for her so she doesn't fall. We put an area rug down, but it still slides around. The song and learning features are great, but I think a button to switch between them should be on the underneath of this toy. My daughter is usually leaning against something and flipping the book back and forth so it all sounds rather confusing as it jump back and forth from words to music! I can tell she likes the music best, but she doesn't understand that flipping the page makes it go away. She'll start dancing to the music and then all of a sudden it's gone. All she wants to do is flip the book and play with the frog holding the guitar/banjo, as long as he's in music mode! Overall she really likes it, but her fingers get caught more times that I can count.
Customer Review: Annoys Mom and Dad...but baby like it Summary: 5 Stars
OK...my 7 month old really likes this toy...he is mesmerized by it and likes to experiment with the different things. But here are some suggestions to the people at LeapFrog. 1) Volume Control...wow...this thing sometimes seems really loud. 2) One thing at a time...about the most annoying thing is that as soon as you push a second button it turns off the first thing and turns the second one on...so I hear (music, ABCs, drums, piano keys...very chaotic...I may need some Ritalin after playing with this myself. 3) Annoying female voice...she just grates on me...I'm sure the baby loves the voice...but I just don't like her...maybe more than one voice would be good. 4) pick a few things that don't "say" anything...there's one item (a banjo) that doesn't play any music or say anything if you have it on one of the two settings. It's just as important for baby to hear the sound of the spinning little balls as it is to hear "open, close...hello, goodbe". All in all, I would recommend it because my son does seem to like it...but make sure you've got some Extra Strength Tylenol around.
