Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog LeapStart® Learning TableCustomer Review: Great Toy, But..... Summary: 4 Stars
Having just bought this toy recently, my experience is limited, however it is definitely educational, is easy on parents ears (the music is not the teeth-clenching, annoying kind some other toys have), and has activities aplenty to keep my almost 9 month old son occupied.I bought it to give him something to stand and play with (he also has a Classical Chorus Piano which he LOVES), and walk around, as he's on the verge of walking but not quite. Its very useful for that purpose, and sturdy enough to pull up on comfortably. The only thing that disappoints me about this toy is its size. I expected it to be larger at least in height, and would have appreciated adjustable legs for some added longjevity. My son is just about average height, and it is the perfect size for him right now (he even tries to get his leg up onto it which he doesnt bother doing with larger toys). It is not an inexpensive toy, so I had hoped to get a lot of play out of it...only time will tell.
Customer Review: Even better than expected! HIGHLY recommended! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my 8 month old after reading all the great reviews. My little guy took to it right away. I have the legs on, and it is the perfect height for him to hold and play while standing alone. He had not done any cruising, but this table has gotten him started, because he wants to go around to the other side! His standing isn't steady yet, but he uses the trombone as a hand hold, and can stand at this table for 30 minutes or more without falling or getting bored.
An important point for parents: the voices and sounds are very pleasant, and not likely to become annoying, at least not for a much longer time than most noise-making toys.
One item to note: the product listing indicates that it needs 4 "C" batteries -- the product I received uses 3 "AA" batteries. I think this is good, since AA are easier to find. It doesn't seem to be hard on the batteries -- I haven't had to replace them yet, and my little guy has used the table a LOT.
Customer Review: If you buy 1 toy..get this one!!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I cannot say enough good things about this learning table! My 9 months old son started playing with this a few weeks ago and it has been incredible to watch him discover the many things this table can do. He has a lot of other toys that have levers and buttons and what not but none is as USER FRIENDLY as this one. The book in the middle has a solid page that flips back and forth and now my son flips pages of books that i read to him...his favourite thing on the table changes every few days as he keeps making new discoveries. your kid will loVE this table and it is the only thing that keeps my son productively entartained for a while. He has learnt to cruise while using this table however if you let your baby pull up on it please be watchful. The leapfrog website has demo online that u can check out to see all the learning and entertaining features packed into this neat toy. If you have been lucky enough to stumble upon this product...BUY IT! Its a GREAT investment.
Customer Review: Hours of enjoyment Summary: 5 Stars
Our daughter, who just turned 8 months a few days ago, has been enthralled with this toy since she got it about two months ago. She has slowly but surely discovered all of the table's functions and is particularly fascinated by turning the music/alphabet page and opening the little purple "jazz" door. I find myself singing the little "zzzap-a-dooba-deeba-dahba-dree-ah-boooow" riff on odd occasions like opening the dryer door or flipping on a light switch.I have two complaints for what is an otherwise fantastic product. First, the little purple "jazz" door is now easily pulled off. The second problem is one of stability. Now that our daughter is pulling herself up the table can be quite easily pulled over on top of her if she is not positioned well. I recommend you stay close if your baby has a propensity to want to sit down and stand-up while playing on this toy. I think if they would have made the table a few inches wider and deeper this wouldn't be an issue.
Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
My son recieved this table as a Christmas present when he was about 5 months old and he still plays with it all of the time even though he is about 3 years old now. We started with the legs off and he learned very easily to play with it. Then when we had to put the legs on I believe that this toy helped greatly when it came time to walk due to the fact that it encourged him to move around the table to see everything and even on hardwood floors it is hard to move, which was a big issue with me at first because of all the stories had heard about kids falling. In no time he could sing along with the abcs and 1-10. Now he will pass by it and stop and sing along with the table for some time. After 2 1/2 years of use I have only had to replace the batteries a couple of times and it still looks like brand new, nothing has broke off of it and everyting still works. I am now expecting our second child and we are just going to hand this one down. IT IS VERY WORTH THE MONEY.
