Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog LeapStart® Learning TableCustomer Review: Couldn't be without it Summary: 5 Stars
My sons LOVE this toy. THEY try to find new ways to use it every day. At first, I held them up to it and showed them how to use it. Now that they are both crawling, they crawl across it to reach the other side. I haven't put the legs on it yet, but I am greatful that there will be a motivation to stand when I do. I find myself putting this toy out of reach during the day so that they play with other things. When I put it back down, they can't seem to zoom over to it fast enough. The music is outstanding. The jazzy and bluegrass sounds are such a departure from the tinkly ones that you might expect. Even the ABC song has a jazzy beat. What made me really like this toy from the moment it came out of the box was that my sons could use the toy right away. The music and lights are activated by just a SLIGHT touch from your baby. ZERO FRUSTRATION!! They figured out most of the buttons and slides by themselves. I didn't have to help them move the buttons which is the case with so many other toys. I have to find a way to pack this one to take with us on our vacation.
Customer Review: Highly entertaining for months, you won't mind leaving it on Summary: 5 Stars
While many electronic toys inspire me to throw away all new batteries in the house, this one remains battery charged and perpetually on! We received the LeapStart Learning Table as a gift when our daughter was just 2 months old. When she was able to spend more time on her tummy which was around month 4, we opened it up and it has been her favorite toy ever since (and ours!) Our daughter quickly learned how to engage each area of the table, creating sounds and lights to her delight. In the "words" mode, she loves the alphabet song and plays it over and over.
Her favorite activity is turning the page on the book in the center which changes the mode. In the music mode, there are a sufficient number of songs to make it a fun sing along for us.
As noted by other reviewers, there is one manufacturing flaw in that the purple door comes off rather easily. While disappointing, the purple door has become one of my daughter's favorite teethers. It, by itself, is one of her most cherished possessions. We highly recommend the LeapStart Learning Table.
Customer Review: Son LOVES it, but watch the purple door... Summary: 4 Stars
My 10 month old son LOVES this table. That said, I do not like the fact that the purple door on the table comes off so easily. My son, who is still a little wobbly when he tries to take a step sideways, is constantly pulling the door off as he loses his balance. He has even fallen and knocked his chin on the table because the door came off as he lost his balance. When I called the company to find out if this is a defect, they said "no", that it was designed to come off so little kids' fingers wouldn't get pinched. Huh? This doesn't make any sense. If the door comes in contact with the table, there is a potential for the child's fingers to get pinched. If you want to keep their fingers from getting pinched, you must design the door to leave a fingers-width gap between the door and the table when it closes. Anyway, I've just taken the door off so he doesn't try to use it to keep himself in balance, which he hates because he's REALLY into opening and closing things right now. However, he does love the other features of the table, so that's why I haven't returned it.
Customer Review: An Outstanding Toy For Learning Fun Summary: 5 Stars
This versatile toy is outstanding in many ways. Along with being educational, it is also a lot of fun for babies of many ages. We bought this toy for our four month old. She took to it right away, attracted to the colorful manipulatives, lights and music. She was not sitting up at the time, so we kept the legs off and let her play with it on the floor. Now, at nine months, she plays with it while standing, and gets so excited about her new perspective! Several positives: there is a large repertoire of songs on the banjo and the maraca, so parents won't get tired of the same songs over and over. There is also a learning mode and a musical mode for twice the fun. The colors, graphics and music are all high quality and baby friendly.
The only negative we've found: the violet lid covering the open/close box snaps off easily. It's the first thing my baby does when she starts playing with the table. However, this is a very minor complaint; some parents might not have this problem.
Overall, this is a high quality, entertaining toy that is worth the money.
Customer Review: She loves it!! Summary: 5 Stars
Our daughter is almost 10 months old now, and she's notorious for preferring to play with things that actually aren't toys - her hairbrush, my keys, etc. But she got this for Christmas, and when I put her on the floor, she zooms right over to it and starts playing with it! She prefers to play standing up now, so this table is perfect. She loves all the sounds, lights, and buttons to push, and she especially likes turning the "page" in the center of the table. I think she wishes there were more pages to turn. She seems to prefer the music side to the educational side, but she starts dancing every time the "ABC" song plays.I highly recommend this toy, especially if your baby is starting to pull up and prefer standing at things. The only slight problem is if she's partially under the table and tries to pull up - then it tends to tip, but I'm always nearby and have held it down so she won't hurt herself. But it's nice and sturdy for her to cruise around, and it doesn't slide across the carpet like another table she has. Definitely worth it!!
