Customer Review: A great toy for tots ready to stand/walk!

My son got this toy when he was 8 months old (wish we'd gotten it a little earlier) and at 17 months, he still plays with it every day. This is the toy that encouraged him to stand independently and walk more then any of the others. He loves to switch it back and forth between the music and words/songs and even between the english and spanish! My 6 month old nephew loves to sit (or stand with support)in front of it and reach for all the brightly-colored toys on it and gets such a kick out of it when he makes something play music and the lights light up. Absolutely worth the money!

Introduce your infant or toddler to the entire alphabet, numbers one through ten, shapes, colors and more. The LeapStart Learning Table provides two engaging ways for children to play. Parents can expose little ones to instrument sounds and upbeat melodies with each instrument on the table, or flip the center page on the table to transform the instruments from musical activities to learning discoveries.Remove the LeapStart Learning Table's legs so your baby can play while sitting. As she grows, the Learning Table encourages her to pull up to standing, an important developmental milestone. Includes over 40 songs and melodies. Features sparkling lights and lots of great hands-on activities. Requires 3 "AA" alkaline batteries (not included). Measures 24"L x 5.5"W x 15.5"H.
This is a happy, noisy toy that should amuse most toddlers. Everything that can be touched reacts in some way, from a trombone-playing frog to a book that sings the alphabet. Our favorite is the colored keyboard that sings each color you press. The tabletop can be placed on the floor for those still in the crawling phase, or can sit on the included legs for a sturdy surface and leaning spot for little ones who are new to walking. If there is any fault with the Learning Table, it may be that it has too many features: each element of the table reacts in two different ways, depending on whether it's in Learn Mode or Music Mode. (Modes are switched by flipping the page of the book mounted in the center of the table.) Though this means more fun stuff for kids to hear, the mode concept is not one that they can be expected to understand, and the effect of the toy's inconsistent reactions is likely to be confusion. --David Stoesz
