Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Hug & Learn Baby Tad PlushCustomer Review: excellent Summary: 5 Starswe got this for our daughter at 6 months. the sounds it makes made her laugh then, but now, at 9.5 months she actually plays with it herself. she presses the buttons and gets so excited when it starts singing nursery rhymes when she's pressed the correct one. very fun toy for babies. would make a great gift.
Customer Review: Another LeapFrog hit! Summary: 5 StarsThis toy is great! We bought it for our youngest for his first Christmas. He's almost 3 1/2 now and he still loves it.
Customer Review: Great learning toy! Summary: 5 StarsMy son received this when he was 17 months old. He loved it immediately and within a week he knew all of the colors and shapes that Baby Tad teaches. It was a hand me down from his 5 year old cousin. Both boys loved it and played with it a lot. My son is now 27 months and it still looks like new. He still plays with it but not nearly as much as he used to. Now he understands that there is a game to be played (a colored shape lights up and if you push the correct one, Baby Tad says, "Yay, that's the green circle, etc..." If the wrong button is pushed, it still says what color and shape was pushed, but doesn't say Yay.) so he enjoys that as well as pushing the hand that plays music. If the hand is pushed once, it says, "One minute till night night" and plays calming songs for one minute. You can push it up to a total of 6 minutes worth of music. We have this as well as the Laugh and Learn Learning Puppy and while my son enjoyed both of them, this one was much more educational. The Learning Puppy does talk about parts of the body when pushed (ear, nose, hand...) but it mostly just sings songs, claps, sneezes, etc.
I would have given it 4.5 stars if I could because it's not a toy my son could take to bed, even though it's intended to be, with the "night night" music. Any time it is slightly touched it talks, which would wake him up. That's being pretty picky though as he has many stuffed toys to sleep with and this is more of an educational toy.
One thing I really appreciate about the Leap Frog toys we have is that they all have volume control (low and high). This also has an off switch under the velcro patch in the back, in case your child would want to sleep with it. They just would not be able to play the music then. Also, after 2 children and several years, the blue square no longer works reliably. I called Leap Frog, who has excellent customer service, and was told that even though it is beyond the 1 year warranty, if I pay to ship it to them they will send me a new one. Talk about customer service!!!
Customer Review: Great Entertainment!!!! Summary: 5 StarsI purchased this toy for my baby sister on her birthday a few months ago and she was entertained with this baby tad toy and the fact that is that it is a learning toy for her and provides her entertainment on this toy. When you first turn it on,it sings and one of the shapes lights up and this highly recommended.
Customer Review: A must have Summary: 5 StarsMy daughter loves this. We got it for her when she was around 6 months old, and it was her favorite toy for a long time (would still if we weren't rotating toys-it's in the inactive pile for another month). When she was younger, she had a lot of trouble falling asleep, so we would use the nighttime feature to lull her to sleep.
