Customer Review: The Perfect Gift!

I passed this toy so many times in the store without ever testing it out. Thankfully, my friend had the insight to buy it for my daughter's 1 year birthday. I had no idea what we were missing. This toy plays soothing music for night/naptime (and it actually helps my daughter fall asleep!) as well as fun music for playtime. Then there are the buttons on the front which teach shapes and colors by saying "That's the yellow star" etc, whenever the corresponding button is pressed. Shortly after she got it, my daughter started saying "That's..." and pointing at whatever object she wanted to identify. We started naming things for her whenever she did this and her vocabulary increased rapidly. This is an exceptional education toy and to top it all off, it's also a soft cuddly friend toddlers can carry around and hug. I was shopping around the store and found Baby Tad by accident. He was just sitting on the shelf and my son (about 15 months at the time) was in the cart and getting bored with just sitting there. I picked up Baby Tad and gave him to my son to occupy him while in the store. I tried to put him down two different times and my son started crying because he wanted him back. I ended up buying him, thinking I would put him away for Christmas. Well, my son had to have him out of the box and takes Baby Tad with him everywhere, even now that he is 21 months old. This is a must have toy!!! It is a great Crib Toy, I agree with everyone else that wrote too. I found the Volume Control the first day!! (You have to read the boxes your kids toys come in!) I just bought him Little Leap to give him for xmas. You have to check him out for your toddler.Customer Review: An excellent purchase

My son reached his first birthday and has moved away from the very early educational toys we had got for him and I was looking for something new to get his attention and begin teaching him associations with pressing buttons, lights and sounds. Baby Tad is perfect. Within weeks he's learnt to turn Tad on, that he can select different songs and press the right flashing button. I found that many educational toys (where you have to press buttons to activate) were simply too difficult for him and he did not have the necessary strength to press the button or lever down to activate it. He has no such difficulty with Baby Tad and it is not an uncommon sight now to find my son asleep with Baby Tad firmly grasped in one hand.A highly recommended educational and fun toy. The only minor problem (as with all soft toys) is keeping it clean.

My son got this for Christmas 2004 when he was about 7 months old. He liked the music but the buttons were too hard for him to push himself (Fisher Price's Play 'n Learn Puppy is much easier for little ones to work). It's been sitting in his room where he has had access to it and he would play with it occasionally (he could make the kiss on the cheek work) but it wasn't until this week (more than a year later) that he's really shown interest in it. He loves to play the songs and he's very pleased with himself that he discovered the "Night Night" music. However, if you use the sleeping music, I wouldn't recommend leaving Baby Tad in the crib over night. My son rolled over and "woke" Baby Tad up. Luckily, my son is a sound sleeper! (But it was a bit disconcerting for me to hear a voice coming from my son's room late at night.)Customer Review: We love Baby Tad!

We bought this for my daughter's first Christmas - she was not quite 6 mos. old at the time. Every time we were at the store (which was quite a lot at holiday time!), she would end up playing with it and cry when it would go back to the shelf. We knew it just 'had to' be bought.
For months, we couldn't go anywhere without Baby Tad, be it the living room or Grandma's or the mall. Baby Tad would sing her to sleep nightly (LOVE the volume switch in the battery compartment!) and in the morning, she wouldn't fuss for me to get her - I would hear Baby Tad talking and know she was awake!
Now she's 20 mos old and isn't so dependent on Baby Tad anymore, but he's still a bedtime staple, keeping his nightly watch from beside her pillow. We are expecting again and think we may have to acquire another Baby Tad!
