Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Fridge Farm Magnetic Animal SetCustomer Review: My son loves this toy. Summary: 5 Stars
This was a great buy for only $7 this Christmas. You stick this to your refrigerator door and your toddler can try and match the animal parts together. Even if they don't get it right the female voice will tell them what animal parts they put together and say stuff like "a cow-horse, that's silly!" It also gives other info like what a baby of that particular animal is called if you get a match and if you push the frog on top it talks and plays a few different tunes. My 11 month old son loves this and we had to make sure to attach this to the freezer side of our side-by-side fridge, since he's always sitting in front of it when we are in the kitchen. he gets mad if we try to open the door while he's playing..lol
Customer Review: A neat toy with some issues Summary: 3 Stars
We purchased this set for our son on his 2nd birthday, within just a couple of weeks the set stopped working. We replaced the battery, no luck. We contacted amazon and within just a few days had a new one. The new one does work and it is very cute, my son loves it! The animals make the appropriate noises when you put the two correct halves together and makes funny animals up when you add for instance a horse and a cow, however, even the 2nd one we received doesn't work quite right. It sounds like the batteries are going dead, even though we replaced them with brand new ones. All things aside my son and daughter still love the thing and my son has learned the sounds for the animals he didn't know before!
Customer Review: You made a match, look what you've found. A fridge farm! Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter received this toy as a Christmas present when she was three months old. She was far too young to even grasp what it was. However, eight months later, she still plays with it several times a day and it has well earned a permanent home on the refrigerator, well mostly on the floor in front of the refrigerator. Although she still hasn't mastered placing and matching the animal shapes, she enjoys every minute she spends with it.
This is as close to being a favorite dolly or blankie as a plastic toy can get.
Clever, imaginative toy sturdily constructed with sounds that do not annoy adults. Great on batteries (no lights). Fridge Farm is worth its weight in gold.
Customer Review: Entertains My 10-Month Old! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this toy! Actually, my daughter loves it more. I bought this as a gift for someone, then bought it for my daughter, then 10 months old. She's 13 months old now and still enjoys it. Her feeding chair is next to the stove. She takes the toy on and off the magnetic side, takes the animals on and off. Makes a mess if she's got food in her hands, but she just loves it. Sometimes she (deliberately) drops the pieces or the main piece on the floor but it is very sturdy--has never broken.
My then 2 1/2 year old also enjoys it, asking her to play more songs. We repeat some of the phrases and dance to the songs. It is really a lot of fun for such a compact toy. I highly recommend this!
Customer Review: A must-have! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this toy for my then-16-month old son who loves to play with magnets on the fridge. This set comes with five animals in two pieces, head and tail, per animal. What I liked about this toy is that it reinforces when a match has been made, BUT if a child isn't developmentally able to do that yet, it makes up a name for the animal the child has "created" by mismatching the tail and head (for example, a "sheep-cow"). I liked that it saw a mismatch as silly rather than wrong... good for very little ones who have low frustration levels. This is a quality toy, with clear sound and easy-to-grasp pieces... I'm a picky person when it comes to toys, and I highly recommend this one!
