Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Fridge Farm Magnetic Animal SetCustomer Review: Nice toy, a few complaints Summary: 4 Stars
We have had this toy for awhile and out of the Leapfrog toys it is used the least.
Matching the animals is fun for awhile but after the kids get that one down this becomes pretty boring. Even though it would not compliment the farm motif I think more animal matches like lions, rhinos etc. would have been a nice touch to keep the kids interested.
Also, it is LOUD. The low setting is plenty loud. The high setting I can hear on my bottom floor when my DS is playing with the set in his 2nd floor bedroom.
I'd prefer to use the Baby Einstien's DVD to teach the kids farm animals.
Customer Review: Must-have for babies of Foodie parents! Summary: 5 Stars
Unlike many harried parents, my husband and I refused to give up our love for gourmet cooking when we had our baby. She is now one year old and has spent many, many hours beside me in the kitchen. Keeping her entertained was becoming challenging as she began to crawl and wanted to explore every inch of the kitchen.
But even with her one-year-old attention span, this toy keeps her busy and entertained for a relatively long time! I don't even mind the little song after hearing it several "million" times. IN fact, my husband and I sing and dance to it - which only increases her delight in the toy!
Customer Review: BEWARE -- SCRATCHES REFRIGERATOR Summary: 1 Stars
BEWARE -- This toy has destroyed the finish on my refrigerator and LeapFrog refuses to acknowledge that there toy has caused this damage. A brand new refrigerator was destroyed with deep scratches in minutes. Since I had used it on a textured surface refrigerator I had never given it a second thought when my new fridge came into the house. After both of my children were done moving all the little animal pieces around I looked over and almost fainted. A $[...] refrigerator is now destroyed and LeapFrog will not step up to the plate. If you have a gloss finish refrigerator -- do not use this toy.
Customer Review: Fun toy Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my 14-month old daughter. She really likes pressing the "Farmer Tad" button and listening to the banjo music. The other pieces (the farm animals) are fun, but she's not quite coordinated enough to place them into the barn door to get the unit to recognize the pieces. The painted edges on the animal pieces are showing some wear from being dropped on tile, but the whole unit (barn) has been dropped on tile (a pretty hard drop) and it's still working. I really like the fact that the unit promotes creativity by allowing animal combinations, so that she is never "wrong" when playing with it.
Customer Review: "A pig-cow? That's silly!" Summary: 4 Stars
Overall, I think this is a great toy. My daughter loves farm animals and music, so this is a good combination. Able to keep her interested for a good amt of time. My main concerns are as follows: if you choose to not store it on the fridge (because our Leap Frog Fridge Phonics takes up most of our fridge surface), it is VERY hard to keep track of the pieces, they do NOT stick to the back of the toy like they're supposed to. also, the songs/sayings get a little monotonous for adults to listen to (although my daughter loves them). So a few beefs, but overall an excellent toy with fun and educational value.
