I bought this for my daughter when we home schooled. We loved it but after a couple of months of use the pen stopped working. You point the pen at the country/state etc. and the computer tells you facts about that area. So its critical to have the pen working! We looked the item up online and they said to mail the pen into them and we did so without ever hearing back from them. It has been months now. I read someone else's review with a different problem and they mailed the item back and haven't heard from the company. That is VERY disappointing as this item is fairly pricey and once it doesn't work its just a regular globe. Good luck!Customer Review: Great Gift for Whole Family

I had my mother-in-law purchase this for my children(4 y.o. & 5y.o)for Christmas. It was the biggest hit of all the gifts that day. It was neat to watch how it was able to get everyones attention from the teenagers to the adults. My mother-in-law is actually going to purchase one for herself because she was so impressed with it. We have an exchange student from Afghanistan and now our kids know exactly where it is on the globe. Another favorite place for them to point out is Madagascar. It's also been a great learning tool for our exchange student who is 17 y.o. I am a big believer in the LeapFrog products and they did not let me down.Customer Review: Problem Stylus?!!

Got it as a birthday gift for our daughter - great product to teach kids about "the world around" and she adores it.
The product lacks precision and accuracy. At the beginning the problems started with identification of smaller state/country and later ended up in total chaos. Manufacturer suggested replacing the stylus (FYI - Leap Frog identifies this as a generic complaint and will replace 2 styluses free of cost), but the problem continues to exist. Leap Frog once again suggesting the stylus replacement!?
Just wondering if I could get a total replacement and the product remain worry free for a while!

The product is great. Like others reviewers said... the pen in the weakest point, it looks like it will break anytime... and sometimes the globe responds without being touched by the pen... But the information is great, the games are fun, I love it. My girls, 5 and 10, like it, not as much as me though. It is a bit too hard, but I hope this will be an excellent learning tool for them. I think the more they play, the better they will become, and the more they will enjoy it.
Anyway, overall, I love it, hope the kids will love it too. After trying it, if I had to make the decision now about buying the product, would buy it again.

It is a great educational toy and we look forward to lots of fun and learning with it. That said, it is the second LeapFrog product ordered from Amazon that did not work upon receipt, requiring a (speedy, thanks Amazon!) replacement. One was for my son's birthday, the other for his Christmas gift -- imagine the disappointment by a 5 year old. I wonder about the product testing/quality of LeapFrog, having read of similar experiences from other consumers of their products. Great toys -- there just seems to be a high "out of box failure" rate....I doubt I will buy another product, despite the enjoyment and educational value.
