Customer Review: VERY disappointed in the quality!

I would not recommend this product to anyone. My 7 year old daughter just received this globe for Christmas, and was very excited, said it was her favorite gift. Unfortunately, after playing with it for only a day, the tip of the stylus/pen is breaking off, and thus it no longer is interacting correctly with the globe. She was not rough with the pen, used it appropriately, and is now very disappointed that the globe is not working, and that we will be returning it for a refund. I had read many reviews before buying that said the stylus often broke early on, so shame on me for not listening. I expected more from a Leap Frog product, and will avoid buying their products in the future.Customer Review: Write on this globe with a dry erase marker!

A tip I learned from my toddler (a happy accident): The LeapFrog Explorer Smart Globe can be written on with a dry erase marker and wiped off.
I was angry when I saw that my 2-year-old had scribbled on her older sister's globe, but when I saw how easily it wiped off, I had the idea to intentionally write on it as we learn geography in our homeschool.
Our whole family loves this globe. My husband and I challenge each other with the games. Our 5-year-old tries to identify countries and see if she's correct, and our 2-year-old likes to tap randomly with the stylus and repeat whatever she hears. It can't be a bad thing when a 2-year-old says "Indonesia," right?

Leap Frog toys are the best!! I bought this as a Christmas gift for my five year old twins. I thought it might be too advanced for them, but they had been asking me about oceans and continents, so I thought we'd give it a go. What a great toy! We have gotten many times our money's worth from this purchase. They have spent countless hours playing and learning with this toy. Every time we get in the car, the globe goes with us (a little cumbersome for a travel toy, but it's their favorite). I'm embarrassed to say I need to spend a little time with the globe to catch up with them! We recently purchased the Turbo-Twist Math - another favorite. Next is the Turbo Twist Spelling...Customer Review: Excellent Toy - if it worked (recommend purchase new)

I purchased this "like new" LeapFrog Explorer Smart Globe and received a dirty, scratched up globe not in original packaging that works intermittently. After inserting new batteries, I found it randomly announcing facts and locations without the pen even being close to the globe. We have to hit the target several times before it would detect the touch and even when the touch is noticed the globe announces facts for a nearby location. There is either an electronics or a calibration issue with this particular unit. The exact same model that a friend has for his children works perfectly and is a spectacular learning tool for children and adults. I recommend buying this item NEW.Customer Review: best globe around

My daughter came home from kindergarten upset because she had a a difficult time in school finding Canada on the globe and asked if we could get a globe for home so she could practice and wouldn't be embarrased at school. We went searching around and found this one. It is the best thing. She has spent the past two days looking at it, pointing to the different countries, oceans and then telling us about the facts she's learned about each place. My husband and I spent 2 hours last night playing the games after she went to bed. It's fun for the whole family. I think the age rating is a little old. My kindergartener understands how to use it and really enjoys it.
