Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Alphabet PalŪ Caterpillar (Colors May Vary)Customer Review: Very creative and educational Summary: 5 Stars
Great toy so far. I have only owned this for 2 months. I am worried that the legs might not hold up and my other concern is that with all those legs it is a bit difficult to clean. The string is way too short for my son to pull the catepillar along. The only thing I do not like is that it only does short vowel sounds (no long vowel sounds), but I guess I am expecting a lot. We like to press letters consecutively to sound out words (i.e. go, mom, hi), but it was not really meant for that because it only does the short vowels. Other than a few complaints, the toy has lots of settings and is very fun and educational!
Customer Review: Great Toy but bad durability Summary: 2 Stars
My son got this toy for Christmas a little bit before a year old. Though he was a little bit young for it but we would put it on his exersaucer and he loved pushing the buttons to make sounds. Now he is over a year old and is starting to become a little bit rough on his toys. This one isn't going to make it much longer, after being beaten on it's started making groaning jumbled sounds instead of saying the letters and it doesn't even play the music beyond a few opening notes. I love this toy but would Definately NOT recommend it for a child that likes to throw, stomp or wack their toys, it will be broken in no time.
Customer Review: Cute, fun caterpillar Summary: 4 Stars
This is a cute fun toy caterpillar. He sings ABCS, colors, letter sounds and various children's songs. My son loves to pull the string with him as he crawls around on the floor. He pushes the feet some and stops to listen as the caterpillar sings. I think as he gets older he will try to make the caterpillar sing more instead of just pulling him around the house. A side note: Opheius is the little bug on the caterpillar's back. The caterpillar's name is Alphabet Pal. Also my son's caterpillar doesn't censor any letter. The a and the s can be pushed after on another. Cute fun caterpillar that will grow with your child.
Customer Review: Don't buy this thing! Summary: 1 Stars
I should have known not to waste my money on this. I bought it for last Christmas for my son who just turned 1 year. They had one of these in the playgroup center where I attend, and I've never seen a kid play with it there either. I just thought it was because there were no batteries in it. My son has never shown any interest in this toy all year. I have now packed it away, and would love to give it away. It will be the first yard sale item. My son has maybe looked at the blinking light on top when it was on, but that's it. Even when I showed him how it works, he never wanted anything to do with it.
Customer Review: Really annoying... Summary: 1 Stars
I very rarely write a review of a product I didn't like. I've got to tell ya this one was one of mine and my littles girls least liked toy. It was too loud, ESPECIALLY if you accidently step on it at night when your kids are asleep LOL. We have done that a few times and it would wake the girls up. They rarely, if at all, ever played with it. Both my girls got easily bored with it. They seperately pressed it a few times to makes some sound then migrated to a more likable toy. My husband HATED this thing. He would always accidently step on it. It finally got trashed! Save your money for something else!
