Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Alphabet PalŪ Caterpillar (Colors May Vary)Customer Review: So many great functions on one toy Summary: 5 Stars
This is great, there are so many musical tunes and it teaches colors, letter names and sounds. it also has a feature when if the child tries to spell out a bad word it giggles and interupts the word. Very cute. So far my husband & I have only found one that they missed. My 1o month son loves all the different tunes and already remembers where is favorites are. He loves to pull the string to make other songs start and watch the anntenas light up. he also rolls it like a car toy. While the sting is too short to use effectively as a pull toy, even for a baby's height, i can see where they went on the side of caution to avoid potential strangling
Customer Review: We love alpha-pal Summary: 5 Stars
My Godsister bought Alphabet Pal for my son's 2nd birthday. He immediately began playing with alpha-pal. He's now 31 months and he knows how to recite his alphabets, colors, and some phonic sounds. He still plays with his alphabet pal. I also love alphabet pal because I'd put it in the play pen with my nine month old daughter. She is now 16 month-old and knows how to recite her alphabets and recognize letters A,D, and G. Their pre school teacher says that my children learn fast and she was amazed that my one year old knows how to recite her alphabets. I didn't tell her about alphabet pal I just said thank you and looked very proud.
Customer Review: Could be better...but still ok. Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this toy a year ago for my one year old daughter. She has played with it some - mostly pulling it around the house rather than tapping at the keys. The string should actually be longer (it was hard enough pulling it behind her). I would recommend this for an older child (2 1/2 - 4 1/2 years old??) because my daughter isn't even learning her abc's yet and she's now 2. I had hoped this toy would turn for its educational value but it hasn't had the results I expected yet. Maybe I expected too much! The toys' durable because its lasted a whole year - hasn't even broken! My daughter seems to be more interested in still figurines!
Customer Review: A wonderful toy but be gentle! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful toy as far as educational value is concerned. The buttons/legs teach colors, letters and letter sounds. And pulling the string causes the bug to sing the ABC's, which is very cute. But beware, it is *very* fragile. The leg buttons stopped working after 2 months and I called leap frog who promptly sent another which broke within 6 months. My daughter hasn't been rough with this toy, though it does spend time in the toybox. I sure wish it still worked, it was a lot of fun for her... but Leap Frog's warranty is only 90 days and I'm afraid to take a chance buying another. I hope you have more luck than we did.
Customer Review: not a hit Summary: 1 Stars
i bought this for my daughter when she was 14 months.thinking that at the least it would be a fun toy for her to pull around until she grew into the other aspects of the toy (letters&numbers)but the cord isnt long enough for her little arms to pull and the little claspy thing that connects the cord to the toy always slid apart.and now at 2 she has never touched it.the buttons you press(its legs)are a little awkward.maybe when she gets older still.but all in all it was a bad buy for my little girl.there are many other products out there that incorperate more fun.which i believe is what this one was missing...ok i'm done : )
