We have had this toy for several years and did not experience any problem with it "falling apart" like the other reviewers. My son is very rough with toys and this one has outlasted the test. This is a great fun toy. He has never tired of it and loves to sing his ABC's with it. It also does letter sounds, which my son is now starting to mimick. If you run your fingers down both sides of his legs, he laughs. We discovered this by accident, I don't think the instructions mention it. I highly recommend this toy as fun and educational.

Pull the Alphabet Pal's String to hear the ABC song! For children 12 months and up. Requires 3 AA batteries.Here's a learning toy that offers kids a wonderful, interactive introduction to the world of letters, sounds, and colors. Alphabet Pal features several ways to play--pull the string and, antennae flashing, the jolly green caterpillar rolls happily along singing the alphabet song. When one of the caterpillar's 26 multicolored alphabet legs is pressed, kids hear the name of that color, letter, or letter sound depending on which mode they choose. Best of all, Alphabet Pal is a parent's friend, too--it's not too loud and turns off by itself when idle.
