I bought this toy at a garage sale thinking it was too advanced for my 22 month old twins. I thought it might get them a little more familiarized with their ABC's. To my surprise, one of my girls had her ABC's learned in no time. She spent days on end playing with it. One day while coloring I starting writing letters, and she was naming them all. My other daughter has a short attention spane and she has even picked up on several of the letters. It will certaily grow with them. I'll probably purchase a new one soon, as the writing area has seen better days. Other than that, it works great.Customer Review: Wow! What a Toy;

I am a mother of two young boys and this is the best money I've spent on any learning toy. My son who turned 4 in Sept. is in preschool and they are learning how to write and recognize their ABC's. He was struggling so I thought I would buy this to see if it helped. The first weekend he spent at least 12 hours on it. He plays with it every day!!! His preschool teachers said wow he really took off in learning how to write his name and with his ABC's. I said yes he did thanks to LeapFrog. My son got this at age three. He's had other Leap Frog devices and we found them to be very effective for getting him interested in letters. I have no desire to "push" him into learning spelling at this age but I just leave this one out all the time and when he's in the mood he goes through it trying out the different presentations. He makes up words, writes the letters and just generally has a fun time mucking around with the alphabet and words which is the great value of this item; it helps kids associate their ABC's with having fun. I highly recommend this and other Leap Frog stuff.Customer Review: Excellent introduction to writing

I got this toy for my 3 year old daughter for Christmas, and couldn't be more pleased. This toy has sparked her interest in writing, and she is now asking how to make all sorts of words. Her writing has become very clear and she's excited at the prospect of writing.... The toy offers upper or lowercase letters, and shows you how to write both. In fact, the early levels show you both versions for identification. My daughter uses both upper and lower case letters (she mixes them randomly) but has no trouble understanding that there are two different ways to write one letter.

I bought this for my son turning four for his birthday. He knew his a-b-c's already and I was looking for something to help aid him in laerning to write his letters, and this is PERFECT! It teaches him to spell and teaches him the proper way to stoke his letters. My two year old daughter enjoys playing with it as well. He sits and plays with it for so long that before I know it an hour has flew by and he fusses with me when I tell him it is time to put it away! The only drawback is that I fear the writing screen will eventually not function well. I hope I'm wrong.
