Toys and Games Reviews of LeapFrog Phonics Writing DeskCustomer Review: ABC's made fun Summary: 5 Stars
my son received this as a birthday present when he was 2 years old. Although at the time he didn't quite understand the purpose of his new present, he was none the less fascinated by the colors, writing pad and sound. Now at age three he can randomly recognize 15+ letters of the alphabet, spell basic 3-letter words and attempts to write his abc's. This is both a great and fun learning tool. From past experiences with leap frog, I've seen that they are able to incorporate learning with fun. Bravo!
Customer Review: Independent learning Summary: 5 Stars
My grandson at age 4 received this item. He was delighted with the instant feedback and quickly mastered the components of the toy on his own. After a year of interacting with this toy the letters y and r no longer respond. Because his reading ability and spelling was encouraged by this toy, a year later I am buying a 2nd one so that he can continue to learn how to spell and read the words that he writes. It is the best! By the way, he is a high functioning autistic child.
Customer Review: Highly recommended!! Summary: 5 Stars
My 4 year old received this for Christmas last year and still enjoys it, although he is moving past spelling 3-letter words now, he still enjoys typing them and is writing them with the attached pen. To our surprise, our 18 month old daughter was really drawn to it and at 21 months we realized that she was no longer randomly pushing buttons, but knew her alphabet and was responding correctly to the toy! This toy has really helped them with phonics. I highly recommend it!
Customer Review: My children's favorite toy Summary: 5 Stars
We got this for our 4 year old son last Christmas. It was one of those, we need one more gift for him - lets give him this. It is his favorite toy. He knows ALL of his letter sounds and repeats them from memory. He loves the function that lets you spell a 3 letter word. He will try it on his own and also look through books for 3 letter words. Our 3 year old daughter also loves to play with it. It is the only toy that they have consistantly played with all year.
Customer Review: If I could give this toy Ten stars I would! Summary: 5 Stars
This toy has been a true miracle for my five year old son.He has been diagnosed with autism and extreme ADHD and I was told by many professionals he'd never learn to read/write. This toy has taught him the beginnings of both. Being able to spell his name and other words has given him an interest in learning thats increasing day by day. I appreciate all the research and development the makers of this toy have utilized. I would recommend this toy for any child.
