Toys and Games Reviews of Lego Star Wars Episode III Millennium FalconCustomer Review: Buy this a ruin a child's Christmas Summary: 1 Stars
My son and I worked on this think for a few minutes a day for 9 days. After dealing with countless breakages due to a design flaw (the foundation cannot support the weight fore and aft), we finished. As I picked it up show the Falcon to my son, it fell into three pieces. I tried to repair it and more pieces fell off. The more I tried to repair it, the more it kept falling apart. I am convinced that without the use of model glue, it will never stay together long enough to snap a picture of the completed project. How a child is supposed to play with this is beyond me. It would cause far less trauma (and a lot less money) if you would go and buy your child an equivalent number of Legos and let them use their imagination.
We've been loyal Lego purchasers for 12 years now. I will think long and hard before I purchase another set like this one.
Do yourself a favor. Don't buy this product.
Customer Review: Our Favorite Lego Set! Summary: 5 Stars
We have been building Lego sets with our children for over ten years. There isn't a Birthday or Holiday that goes by that doesn't include a Lego set...big or small. That said, the Star Wars Millenium Falcon has been the most challenging and fun to build to date (the Lego Castle of Morcia a close second). Construction of this 985 piece set was time consuming (about eight hours), but once completed has also been the most fun to play with. The Millennium Falcon's "roof" opens exposing control panels, an escape pod, turret, cockpit, and more. The set also includes Han Solo, Princess Leia, C3PO, and a Storm Trooper. This set is a perfect companion to the Tie Fighter (which comes with Darth Vader). I rated this product a 4 for durability not because the Legos themselves are problematic, but becuase when the Millenium Falcon is complete it is somewhat fragile.
Customer Review: Millenium Falcon Summary: 4 Stars
The Millenium Falcon is a fairly good set. It includes a cool escape pod that can easily detach from the set. The set has a movable roof, so you dont have to take the roof of to see inside. My favorite bit is the gun turret (it only has one, on the top ,a minifigure fits inside. It also includes a laser gun for the snowtrooper to try to destroy the ship ,just like in the 5th movie. It would be better if it included more minifigures , like Luke and R2-D2. It has many features from the movie, making it realistic. The landing gear fall off if you are not careful. The inside off the ship is cool, and you can fit a lot of minifigures inside. It is a major improvment from the first Millenium Falcon set. I think it is quite cheap when compared to its value. I would buy this set if you are a LEGO fan.
Customer Review: I'm so glad they re-released this. Summary: 5 Stars
I missed the last round of the LEGO Millenium Falcon so I was thrilled when I saw this one.
This is a fantastic playset/model. It comes with 4 heroes (Han Solo, Chewie, Leia, & C3PO) and 1 snow trooper. The entire roof opens in a flower pattern to enable play inside it. The layout is good and the characters can fit, standing, inside the main area when the roof is closed.
It took a few hours to put together but nothing was difficult during that entire process.
Minor gripes: It has 4 legs on the bottom that handle many landings, but no slide-in landings. The roof panels do not hinge well and may fall of when swinging them open. The main platform that would enable entry is not really functional for that, but it looks cool.
Customer Review: Millennium Falcon - one of the greatest LEGO sets Summary: 5 Stars
As a long time LEGO collector, I rate the Millennium Falcon (LEGO 4504) as one of the greatest LEGO sets of the last decade. Like many, I didn't buy the first release of the Millennium Falcon (LEGO 7190) back in 1999, and I still regret it. I bought this second release of the Millennium Falcon the day it hit the stores in 2004. From the photos of the first release, I think the second release is better. It is massive in size (though not to scale, it is LEGO after all) and comes with 5 rare mini-figures, including Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, C-3PO, and an Imperial Snowtrooper. This set was so much fun to put together I actually took it apart and assembled it again. If I could give the Millennium Falcon 6 stars, I would.
